1. What is Biology?
Biology is the science of life. The people who study the growth, function, structure, origin, evolution and distribution of living organisms are called Biologists. There are nine main fields of Biology and each field can have many subfields within it. They are the following fields:
1. Biochemistry: the study of the material substances that make up living things
2. Botany: the study of plants, trees, flowers, and it also includes agriculture
3. Cellular biology: the study of the basic cellular units of living things
4. Ecology: the study of how organisms interact with their environment and one another
5. Evolutionary biology: the study of the origins and changes in the diversity of life over time
6. Genetics: the study

How do different stain removers work?
There are many different stain removers for sale. Many of these solutions attack the stain differently which may make a particular stain remover better for certain stains. Their effectiveness can depend on the size of the molecules, the polarity, and the solubility of the molecules.
Water is considered the “universal solvent”. This is because it being a bent polar molecule which allows it to remove stains from other polar molecules. Water is inorganic so it works well at dissolving other inorganic substances. Water is very good at delivering detergents, which are also known as surfactants, to the stain. This is why water is used frequently in stain removal.
Surfactants, also known as detergents, are molecules that have a non-polar end and a polar end. They can blend compounds that normally are not soluble in water alone. Substances that would normally stay separate in water will not when there is a surfactant mixed in with it.
Phosphates are compounds that have a phosphate and an ionic charge. They work well against stains that have iron oxide in it. The phosphate will create a chemical reaction that will remove the stain called displacement. An example of this would be a blood
Carbohydrates: any of a class of organic compounds that are polyhydroxy aldehydes or polyhydroxy ketones, or change to such substances on simple chemical transformations, as hydrolysis, oxidation, or reduction, and that form the supporting tissues of plants and are important food for animals and people.
If bleach is used compared to the other detergents, then bleach will work best because it has the most whitening agent. The experiment will work around this hypothesis in hopes of proving it right using both the background knowledge and the experimental data. In the experiment bleach will be applied to 5 shirts along with tide, gain, oxy-clean, and arm and hammer in varying washes to see which detergents remove the stain applied by grape juice the best. *Note only
Water (H2O) is a good solvent because it is partially polarized. The hydrogen ends of the water molecule have a partial positive charge, and the oxygen end of the molecule has a partial negative charge. This is because the oxygen atom holds on more tightly to the electrons it shares with the hydrogen atoms. The partial charges make it possible for water molecules to arrange themselves around charged atoms (ions) in solution, like the sodium (Na+) and chloride (Cl−) ions that dissociate when table salt dissolves in water.

A biomolecule can dissolve in water if it can form significant non-covalent interactions with the solvent molecules.
Evolution: A heritable change in the characteristics within a population from one generation to the next; the development of new types of organisms from preexisting types of organisms over
The study of biology is relevant now because it has everything to do with life and life is everywhere on Earth. We can use biology to keep that from changing. Biology has helped us grow food, protect the environment, tell us how the body works, and so much more. Thanks to biology viruses and diseases can also be controlled. Biology has advanced the world so much and without it everything would be completely different.
In the lecture “Biology 1A,” the professor defined the basic biology of communities and environment, and she explained living organisms have same structures of chemistry, same molecules, and requirement of water. She illustrated definition of matter which contains chemistry of water and chemistry of carbon. Also, she stated that the different elements have different functions in human body. In addition, she explained water is one of the most unique molecules, and it also is one of the most important to biological systems. Finally, she explained the water has a slight positive and slight negative charge on opposite ends.
Evolution - a change in the number of times specific genes that codes for specific characteristics occur within an interbreeding population over a period of time.
I also want to get a good answer to the question if we are physically or chemically adsorbed to the surface. I notice that some methylene blue does come off upon being rinsed with water, but most stays bound. I’m going to perform an experiment where I submerge the dye soaked solution in water and see how long, and at what pH, it takes to desorb.
His theory of evolution brought out the idea of natural selection and biology diversity. In “The Origin of Life,” Darwin pointed out the evolution process follow by natural selection, only the fittest mutation organism can survive. Organisms do not evolve on purpose, but they evolve to fit the environment. Phylogeny and Classification: In the last section, the author mentioned there are two approaches for scientific research, phylogeny and
Water makes a great solvent due to the fact of its high polarity. Polarity means that water has an electric charge difference that can pull molecules apart to create a solution. The water's polar molecules pull apart molecules, by pulling on the positive and negative ions with many molecules. Water is called the universal solvent given it can dissolve both ionic substances and polar covalent substances. An example of this is water particles.

My Undergraduate degree of Biotechnology is an interdisciplinary field covering biosciences, biochemistry, mathematics, probability and statistics, biophysics and computer science. Subjects as varied and seemingly disconnected as these being studied together helped me understand that biology is developing into something more than pure life sciences. When I was in school, my 9th and 10th grade biology teacher, Mr. Samuel, recognized my passion for biology and encouraged me to pursue it. I have always enjoyed my math classes too and wondered if there was a way to connect both subjects. I discovered Computational Biology to be the perfect embodiment of this idea. The roots of the field lie in Biology and branching out of it are the applications of mathematics and computer science to understand the subject in a completely different way. Having knowledge in various fields certainly makes the job easier, as we know which field can cater to what part of the solution. I imagine every disease to be
Education is now the order of the day. Many people aim at continuing their education after high school. After high school, some students enter directly to college whiles others go to universities to read different course of their choice. Among these courses, some prefer to read mathematics, literature, science, economics, and others. Every student has his / her own career path in life. Some aim at becoming Biologist whiles others aim to be a Chemist. This is basically for students who have interest in the science field determines which areas they want to study. When it comes to the issue of Chemistry and Biology which one to be chosen from, here lies the individual own preferences. Biology and Chemistry have similarities in science, whereas they have their differences and their branches. Chemistry and Biology are related courses so those who are interested in science-related programs as their career can go for it. The systematic study of all the matter that exists is science involves both observations and experiments. There are different matters also exist in the universe. The study of a living organism is Biology. Biology is divided into various branches such as Zoology, Botany, Taxonomy etc, whereas, Chemistry can be defined as the branch of science that deals with matter, its composition , reactions, structures, and properties. Both Biology and Chemistry plays an
