Neil Degrasse Tyson, astrophysicist, writer, and television personality. I find him quite the idol and we would have an amazing conversation. Mr. Tyson, inspires me through his ethnicity and background, character, and accomplishments. It is clear he should be a role model for young black men such as myself. Being a black minority, Tyson grew up in New York city. However, despite being in this state he stilled loved the idea of education as he studied the skies at night.Eventually, graduated from Bronx high school in 1976 and went to obtain a bachelor’s degree in physics at Harvard. This inspires me because Mr. Tyson, being a minority, graduated at a respected institution, but most importantly because he went to school with purpose. Tyson
An African-American individual that has been an inspiration in my life is my dad. He inspires me to be successful. He also advises me to take responsibility for my actions, try as hard as I can, set goals, and never quit. My dad inspires me not only in words but also through his actions. He is very hard-working and tries his best to take care of our family.
I chose Benjamin Franklin because he did a-lot during the revolutionary war. He was the sixth president of Pennsylvania and he was also the first United States Ambassador to France. Franklin was an inventor he is known for the lightning rod, bifocals and the Franklin stove. Ben was very successful in life, but he became wealthy publishing Poor Richards Almanac and The Pennsylvania Gazette. I think Ben Franklin would be amazing guy to talk to, I could ask him what it was like back then, and what inspired him to do all the things he did. We could talk about how the continental congress was made and who was mostly in charge. I would ask him what the war was like and how did people suffer with the loses they took. I also want to get
Based on the title of this episode, I expected it to talk about the depths of the ocean, but I was wrong. Instead the episode began by discussing condensation and evaporation and the sun’s effect on each one of these mechanisms. Neil Degrasse Tyson then dived deep into a water trap to further express the contents of the drop, and the water bears appeared once again, their small but rigid tolerance allows them to survive almost everywhere. The episode then began to discuss the structure of a plant at a molecular level and Photosynthesis. There was one thing that I found very interesting in this episode and that was then sectioned that talked about Charles Darwin’s prediction about the orchid's nectar. He believed that everything as created for a reason, if the Orchid had nectar at the end of their narrow stems there must be an animal capable of retrieving that nectar, and he was right a fly was discovered in Madagascar that had a lengthy tongue, one that was used to suck up the nectar from the bottom of the
The person that inspires me is my teachers, I'm inspired by many of my 6th grade teachers like my math teacher, my science teacher, etc. My parents and my teachers help me so much through my problems, and such good rule models. Hopefully, I can be like them when I grow up, so I can be an inspiration to someone else one day.
People have others that they admire like a friend, teacher, coach, or family member. The people they look up to are very important and help influence them in their lives. One influential person in my life is Jim Dunman because he is hard working, respected, and talented.
Neil Degrasse Tyson points out in his article “Cosmic Perspective”, first published in the Natural Magazine in 2007, that if every human were to truly comprehend how stupendous and interraled the universe is to us, our perspective on humanity would shift from a focus on our distinctions to our connections. Tyson explores through many examples of the “cosmic perspective” to prove just how closely associated we are with the universe.
Most people would guess that a young teen like myself would be influenced the most by the hippest artist of today, the latest movie star, or maybe the team who designed the latest iPhone. Though they are very inspiring, I have been influenced by someone who is not in the twenty first century, yet his legacy and great contributions will go on for centuries. This individual is Charles Drew. Drew was an African American physician and medical researcher who made life changing developments in the medical field. He studied blood transfusions, developed effective techniques for blood storage, and applied his knowledge to develop a blood bank. Charles Drew is most inspiring to me because he was passionate, selfless, courageous, and stood
If I would have to choose a historical figure that inspires me most, it would have to be Andrew Carnegie. Coming to America as a scottish immigrant and digging himself out from the bottom class. He single handedly created Carnegie Steel, which allowed America to grow upwards with his steel as its backbone, and lifeblood. In the face of impossible odds he surpassed everyone's wildest imaginations of what a human being can accomplish and achieve in their lifetime.
A final point of admiration comes from the fact that Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson does not mind opening the discussion regarding controversial topics. Because of his personality, Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson comfortably expresses a unique brand of individualism. In recent days, Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson began to raise a controversial subject regarding the science literacy of the United States. Dr. Tyson feels the nation might be turning into a nation of unbelievers in science, perhaps accepting suspicious science or science based on superstition as fact, not trusting tested and proven scientific knowledge (Business insider.com). Dr. Tyson states” The consequences of that is that you breed a generation of people who do not know what science is nor how
Many people are famous in the arts, government, and sports but I chose these three because of how they affected history. These people have taught me a lot a through asking these questions I can find out more about their
If i could have dinner with any of these important people it would have to be Ben Franklin. Ben franklin was such an icon person and even though he is dead he still is an icon in today. He part of the reason why we are all here today. Ben Franklin was a very smart man he taught himself how to write even after his education stopped at the age of 10. As you can te he was very dedicated to his education.
I chose to research Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson because he has been an extraordinary role model for many people, both young and older. He has helped make learning about astronomy appeal to a much bigger audience than most have previously been able to do. He is a very intelligent man and has made many contributions to this world in his lifetime thus far.
For my research, I chose the comedian Kevin Hart. I chose Mr. Hart due to the fact that many of his standup comedy acts appeal to me, and are relatable to my life. A lot of comedians create humor at the expense of others, but Kevin Hart tends to keep it centered on his family, and events that have happened in his life. I can relate to the events that he makes light of, and it makes it the humor more appealing to me specifically. Both the fact that his home life, and his physical appearance are the basis of his routines make more sense than some of the other standup comedy acts I have observed.
The crowd was cheering. They were yelling with excitement. They were just about to see the first human to step on the moon's surface.Neil Armstrong was an astronaut who was the first person to walk on the Moon. He was also an aerospace engineer, naval aviator, test pilot, and university professor. He was born on August 5, 1930, in Wapakoneta, Ohio. On July 20, 1969, American astronaut Neil Armstrong stepped onto the surface of the moon and became the first person to walk on the surface of the moon. While he was on the moon Neil Armstrong said these words,"That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."
Over time, there have been several people who have influenced various aspects of my life, based on their personal characteristics, accomplishments, and values. I have been privileged to have had numerous teachers and professors who I respect for their patience and intelligence. There are artists that have inspired me by their natural talents and original creativity. I value many political leaders, who have inspired me by their contributions to society, and their ability to change our futures. Of all the people I have encountered in my life, the person I admire most is my father.
