Billy Joel said, “I think music in itself is healing. It's an explosive expression of humanity. It's something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we're from, everyone loves music” (Music Quotes). Whether we realize it or not, music affects our lives greatly. The only thing for us to question is how. How does music impact your life and the lives of others? What does music do for us? People of all ages benefit emotionally, physically, and academically from music.

As first stated by the ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle, the art of rhetoric in persuasive speaking is based upon the usage of the three key components, logos, ethos and pathos. Logos representing the usage of logic and reasoning within the speech or text, ethos representing the writer or speaker’s credibility and pathos representing how the speaker or author establishes an emotional connection with the audience. Throughout history music has played an important role in society, whether it was Mozart moving people with his newest opera or the latest album from the Beatles. Where would society be today without music? With schools cutting their music programs, the next Mozart may not get his chance to discover his amazing talent. Music programs are essential to education. To fully understand this one must understand how music helps the human body, why schools have cut music programs, and why people should learn music.

If you believe in the real underground of Rock 'N' Roll, then now is the time to do something about it. The time is now to overthrow the current situations and declare war on the record companies, radio stations, publications, clubs, and anyone who promotes the whole so called "scene" as it now stands. Music has been known throughout time. It can help us through everything. There are so many solutions with music to help a person go through so many situations. Music can affect many people in many different ways. Without music some people would be lost and would have no motivation. Music can provide inspiration and insight through education. Music has influence on suicides, killings and shootings, and provocative actions. It can also influence good morals, respect, allowing differences, health, and much more. Music can come in many forms and categories and music is very good for the world.

As we get closer to the 2016 presidential elections, there seems to be 3 runner ups left who are Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton, and Donald Trump. In my opinion the candidate I believe would be the best bet would be Bernie Sanders. Mister Sanders is a Democratic candidate for President of the United States and now serving his second term in the U.S. Senate. From his youth Sanders seems to have been involved in a lot of political events and as a 20 year old he was an officer for Congress of Racial Equality (CORE). Bernie even marched Washington 1963 for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and saw him give his “I Have A Dream” speech in person so that shows you his involvement for Civil Rights. Many parents and administrators believe that music is just a waste of time and doesn 't help a student academically. It has been stated and shown in media of all sorts that music doesn’t help kids academically and is only a distraction with potentially harmful effects. “I don't want to be famous, I want to be successful” that's what the guitarist of Dorey the Wise (an indie band) said in 2015. Indie music is a really original and authentic type of music because artists make their music on their own. Next you will learn more about the concept, this type of music, how the artists make it, why to listen it. Is really fun to listen indie music. You’ll probably ask why, well because the lyrics of this genre are unique and different.

Music is a hands-on and emotional rollercoaster of opportunities to express moments in our lives that need to be felt. We drive about in our cars and we hear tunes of the season, played away on our radios. We have CDs and cassette tapes filled with memorabilia, back when the music was "good," as the parents may recall. Music is never-ending, and that is what I believe is the most valuable factor of it all. It doesn't matter if you can sing an Italian opera, hum in the shower, or attempt to play the recorder without sounding like a fool. What matters is that music continuously aids those in society, no matter how small the impact, or optimal stress release. (And to be blatant, I haven't met a soul who dislikes a melody of some kind or another.)

The December 9, 1941 address by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt is still known as one of the most famous speeches of all times. This speech was broadcasted world-wide from the White House Oval Room, today known as the Oval Office. The speech was delivered by President Roosevelt at 10:00 p.m. Washington D.C. time, which was 9:00 p.m. Texas time and 11:00 a.m. in Europe, making the perfect time to reach almost everyone. Although President Roosevelt was broadcasting world-wide it began with “My Fellow Americans”, telling us the speech was intended for Americans even those stationed in other countries. This famous speech occurred just two days after Japan bombed Pearl Harbor and was given due to the immorality effects that have occurred in the Pacific.

Picture yourself walking through a hallway in a high school The same hallway that every Friday afternoon the band marches down playing music for the football game pep rally. Or, visualize walking by the auditorium and hearing the beautiful, distinct voices of each person in the choir. Now, picture that same school but with no music education, no band, and no glee clubs.
