The young, innocent, promising lives of our past drive emotions through artistic expressions that can be displayed though many outsources. I met my lifelong friend on a day that seemed inevitable to find absolutely nothing. Upon our day to view the art gallery, I entered the gallery feeling very negative that I would view any pieces of art that spoke to me directly. I thought, what possible piece could spark any emotions whatsoever within this “old soul”. I imagined walking in to the gallery to find out that the artistic expressions of others meant little to nothing to me. I was wrong in my assumptions and found a beautiful painting named “Console” by Barlow Palminteri. Tasked with describing what the painting looks like, what it means to me, as well as my …show more content…
Each square is red, yellow, and blue in color reminding me of the artists’ Hispanic origins. Moving inward from the darker, gray and white outer portion of the painting seems to be a bookcase with three separate images inlayed into squares of a man painting on a canvas. In my opinion, the three separate men painting are memories of his father who inspired him to become an artist while the softer, warmer colors the artist utilizes represents his love, appreciation, and admiration towards his father. Overall, the painting is a memory timeline that represents the artist’s life. The grays, blacks, and white used show the darker memories, while the vibrant, beautiful colors symbolize the joyous ones. Personally, the painting drew me towards it because of my Hispanic roots and love for abstract in life. The man playing the guitar induced several emotions from happy to sad and from anxiety to calmness. Growing up, my father played guitar for me and it was the first image that caught my attention. It anchored me to a specific time in my childhood. The guitar is very similar to the guitar that my father owned and played. Also, the image brings up emotions of pride as

Many families encounter the worst of sports related injuries, such as being paralyzed or even death upon playing. The NCHSAA should be more cautious upon high school athletics and make it a safer environment towards all contenders within the divisions. It is not the NCHSAA fault upon injuries, but they can make the biggest improvement upon sports to try and prevent many risky injuries. Kids will go through the pain of an injury, not to only sit and get ready to play again, but to learn an important lesson.

Despite what is commonly assumed, specific African traditions and beliefs were not merely transferred from the continent to the Americas. Rather, African American communities took on African customs and incorporated them into their own distinct worldview, and these new African American customs were even transferred back to the Continent. The Atlantic served as a passageway that did moved more than human bodies, but also the traditions that those bodies carried with them. Evidence for this phenomenon is found through both anecdotal stories from the Lowcountry as well as through anthropological findings on the way material objects were understood and used.
On December 2000, the Carr brothers committed a series of crimes which included the brutal rapping, robbery, kidnaping, and shooting of five young men and women. After a joint sentencing proceeding, a Kansas jury sentenced Reginald and Jonathan Carr to death. On appeal, the Carrs argued that their Eighth Amendment right to an individualized sentencing was violated both by the trial judge’s refusal to separate their cases and the failure to instruct the jury that” mitigating circumstances need not be proven beyond a reasonable doubt”. The Kansas Supreme Court agreed and called off the death sentences by holding that the trial judge failed to do the necessary analysis on the issue. The court also held that the jurors may have been prevented from
When you see yourself living out your dream, the thought of what you're most passionate about pulls you in. Passions in one's life change based on what had affected that person. Dreams are defined to change. However, the benefits of these thoughts is that they belong to you and only you. Not one person's opinions matter but your own. Chris McCandless simply was living out his own ideal life, the way he wanted; not to the idea of his parents, his friends or of society. McCandless wanted to escape society and civilization which he felt was tying him down, while also trying to discover himself. McCandless is not by any means a wacko. He was simply defying society and its ideal expectation it holds upon us as a whole.
Every state should’ve been like Longtown in the America 200 years ago because Longtown was a free place for everyone no matter their color. Longtown needs to be taken care of the most because it’s the first town where race and color didn't matter. An article published by Washington Post titled “Ohio town holds rare history:Races mix freely for nearly 200 years” and a youtube video called “Vanishing Act” both explains how a town in Ohio was one of the first places to be free of discrimination. Being a computer science students we already have the necessary knowledge to make this possible, as
