Abortion is the termination of a human pregnancy. “More than 60% of the world’s population lives in countries where induced abortion is permitted either for a wide range of reasons or without restriction as to the reason. In contrast, 26% of all people reside in countries where abortion is generally prohibited.” as stated by The World’s Abortion Laws Map. Abortion is appalling and should be outlawed. Not only is it the excretion of a fetus, what a baby has developed from, from the uterus by natural causes, but you are killing a living organism! A woman is letting someone rip that baby from her body before it has even been able to survive independently and quite frankly, I’m torn. The internet claims abortion is fine and should be …show more content…
Consider all the men and women who have done nothing but fight to have a child of their own, whether by adopting or birth. All the struggled women in the world that have given up their baby by abortion could have done the best yet second most difficult thing, after abortion, ever and that is giving their child up for adoption. These babies could have filled the deep hole couples have of not being able to conceive their own. “The percentage of infants given up for adoption in the United States declined from 9% of those born before 1973 to 1% of those born between 1996 and 2002.” The number of US infant adoptions dropped because women were coinciding with abortion. What women all around the world need to realize is the responsibilities and consequences that come with producing a child. The baby should not be punished for a mistake made by adults. Abortion promotes that human life is disposable. Legalizing abortion is sending out a message to everyone that human life has little value. Or that you value your own life more than a baby’s so you can go without having to put yourself through such a traumatic time of having the baby, possibly losing it, adoption, or miscarriages. The worst thing after abortion is creating the assumption that you
Having the choice of abortion is telling women that they do not have to be responsible for their actions. The woman knows that no matter if they took all the precautions to not become pregnant, there still are chances of it happening. Abortion is just an immoral way for women to coward away from responsibility. A Census Bureau study noticed “that women who have their first child out of wedlock get less education and are more likely to be unemployed and single - even many years later - compared with other women” (Harris). Women need to realize that they made the choice of bringing a baby into their lives even if they unknowingly did. It does not matter if it is inconvenient for the woman or it would set the woman back in life. The woman needs to grow up and take care of the baby like an adult
There are two arguments regarding the ethical issue of abortion, pro-choice and pro-life. The pro-life position believes the sanctity of human life begins at the point of conception and therefore abortion is akin to murder. This is due to the fact that society does not allow one human to intentionally harm or take the life of another even an unborn child. Furthermore, there are negative consequences as a result of an abortion, as medical complications can occur later in life, as well as intense psychological pain and stress. Statistics show that abortion is a choice made mostly by young women whom many are minors, with insufficient life experience to understand the consequences of their actions. A viable replacement to abortion is adoption,
Abortion is one of the most socially, politically, and culturally controversial topics of the 21st century, ultimately affecting women of all ages. According to Merriam Webster Dictionary, abortion is defined as the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by the death of the embryo (Merriam Webster.1). The United States Supreme Court ratified the legalization of abortion in an effort to make the procedure safer; this was done through the Roe v Wade decision of 1973. In the United States more than a thousand abortions take place every day, and although legal, public opinion remains at a standstill as to whether or not abortion is ethical. In the midst of the controversy, two groups emerged. These two groups are referred to as pro-choice and pro-life. Pro-life supporters claim that the life of a baby begins at conception, therefore the act of abortion is equivalent to murder. Pro-choice supporters, on the other hand, believe that a woman has the right to choose what she does with her body. In the end, one must understand the implications of abortion in order to answer the question, is abortion ethically and legally moral?
Firstly, abortion kills the innocent lives of babies. In America, about 1.21 million abortions occur a year (National center of health). According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 3,952,841 babies are born a year. The life of every unborn baby is in jeopardy, he or she either gets the opportunity to live or he or she’s life ends. “There is no ethical defense for killing someone who is innocent, no matter how great the inconvenience to another person may be”. (Wayne Wilkins) People believe that aborting a baby won’t harm or cause pain to the unborn fetus; it’s the destruction of a conception. The power to end one’s life should be in no one’s hands.
Abortion is the murderous slaughtering of an unborn child. Around one million abortion procedures occur every year; as a result, roughly one million innocent babies die every year. Those poor human beings never had a chance to walk for the first time, start preschool, graduate, or start a family; they were killed. Children are being murdered every single day, yet nobody stops this harsh act from happening. Abortion should be made illegal because it’s practically murder, opposes God’s word, and goes against the “unalienable rights to life” recognized by the Founding Fathers.
Abortion is a prominent and controversial issue in our society today. It is simply not right for the mother to kill an innocent baby for her own convenience when the unborn has the most to lose. Women would rather kill a child, instead of letting it live a happier life with another family. Abortion should never be an option for a family, and adoption should be promoted over abortion in any situation.
In my view abortion is definitely an inhumane practice, from the statistics provided over 4,000 children's lives are actually destroyed in the brand of preference each day, and at the same time over 4,000 females are harmed daily emotionally. Three thousand 3 hundred and twenty-two abortions happen everyday globally. This breaks my center to know that persons would kill their very own child. Abortion may be the termination of a human being pregnancy, performed through the initial 28 weeks of being pregnant. Some persons say it's merely an abortion but do they go through the dilemna it's a baby they are killing, a human. Despite the fact that the fetus isn't completely developed it nonetheless has existence from god running right through its
I believe that it is a woman’s choice whether to keep her child or not. I don’t think that anyone should interfere with the choice of the provider of the baby. Abortion is a popular topic in the debate world, but I strongly believe it shouldn’t since at the end of the day the woman is liable for her child. In this article, an unknown writer wrote, “The fact that a fetus may or may not have a beating heart, developing neurological structures, identifiable digits, or any other human quality does not equate abortion to murder. All embryonic organisms resemble a developed version of said organism. Additionally, a fetus does not have the mature, necessary neuroanatomical system required to feel pain until 26 weeks gestation. Not to mention,
As for reasons like prostitution, teenage pregnancy or the baby cannot be supported, these are all brought on by lack of responsibility and immaturity and in the words of Mother Teresa ? We should combat abortion with adoption?. I think all women who are thinking of getting an abortion should read these words and while reading them think of the life the child could have with the mother or with foster parents. I believe adoption is the best way to combat abortion.
Abortion is the act of killing the child who is growing inside of you with giving the baby or fetus a chance to choose its own faith. Abortion is usually just trying to get rid of a mistake they made. Abortion is a terrible thing and no women should have the right to take away a living soul that God made. Women who do this can not just harm their fetus but can also harm themselves. The fetus can also feel all the pain that happens to it, which is a cruel thing to make a not even a newborn child go through. Abortion should be illegal because murder is illegal, the child gets no choice, and fetuses can feel all the pain.
Abortion is murder. Killing innocent human beings is wrong, and even though an infant may not be born yet, the baby is still a human. Just because the infant is unborn doesn't mean it is okay to murder it since the mother didn’t want it. Life begins at conception and ends at natural death, so unborn babies have the right to life. No one should be able to take that away from them. Abortion may seem okay to some people because they don't want the baby and don’t see it as the murder of a human being because the infant has not been born yet, but they are wrong. Some women don’t think abortion is murder, but they are just telling that to themselves to keep the guilt of killing that innocent child at bay. Choosing abortion, instead of putting the child up for adoption, promotes a culture in which human life is disposable.
Abortion has always been an incredibly controversial topic. It has been one of the most widely discussed issues in the American culture for decades. Abortion is a discussion of human interaction, in which emotions, ethics, and law all come together. In many cases, people on both sides of the argument have valid points and take moral positions. A pro-choice position would assert that the decision to terminate a pregnancy lies the mother and that the government has no right to interfere or step in and make that decision. On the other hand, the position of pro-life advocates argue that life begins at the moment of conception. They believe that because the embryo or fetus is a human life and that one has no moral right to abort it. This theory argues that this human has no power or say in the matter and is rendered helpless from advocating for itself. Although abortion is a morally and emotionally charged issues, it is ultimately protected under the 14th amendment. The most common reasons for abortion include but are not limited to, teen pregnancy, rape, and health issues.
Would you want to bring a child up into this world that is not wanted? How would this make someone feel if they knew they weren't brought here for a purpose. That lingering guilt that you could have done better for this child. We should allow women to end a pregnancy before the child is born. The government should grant women the opportunity since raising a child is not easy, and they shouldn’t feel neglected, pregnancy should never be mandatory, and many aren’t mature enough and rely strictly on their parents for their every move. We should not bring children into this world who are not wanted. Everyone should feel loved, and apart of something much bigger than themselves.
Mother Teresa once said, “The greatest destroyer of today’s peace is abortion, because it is a war against an unborn child, the direct killing of an innocent child, murder by the mother (McCuen 71).”Abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy ("Abortion Documentary" 0:07). All around the world women have tried to end their pregnancies, no matter if it was permitted or not ("Backgroud of the Issue" 1). And today it is the most common performed procedure all across the United States (Contributors 1). With the method of abortion a mother does not learn how to love her own child, and a father does not have to take accountabilities for his whereabouts. They solely obtain the information on how to unravel their complications (McCuen 72). The homicide of an unborn child using outrageous procedures is ethically wrong.
Abortion is a justifiable measure for women to take because it’s safer than adoption, and the outlawing of it is not only a violation to a woman’s right, but is also dangerous. Furthermore, speaking medically, abortion is completely and utterly humane, and safe. According to Willard Cates, researcher at the Family Health International (FHI 360) abortion mortality rates dropped by over 90 percent following the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court Case in 1973. This case allowed women accessible, legal abortions as an alternative to what is known as “Alley Abortions”. 40 years later, abortion and the argument between life and choice is not as black and white as one may be lead to believe.
