How do I feel about applying to college? Applying to college is very stressful. It is that time of the year new students will go to college. You can’t imagine how much of a short time you have to fill out applications, even though we had many months to fill them out you will just feel like you can’t get done with it. You feel insecure and at the same time secure about it. You want to go to a college far away from home but once you’ve thought about it you don’t want to leave home anymore. Applying to college is a blessing but also not. It is a blessing because it's a path to a great and secure future, it is not because you will be filled with debts and you’ll have to move away from your family if you study abroad or in another state. I've always
With America growing at the rate it is, it is very important to grow with it. College is the best way to prepare someone to be out in the workforce and survive. Going to college is not essential for success, but it will give someone the extra skills that will help them in their career and in life. College helps people get a good job, prepares them for adult life, and will help them make more money.
Every spring when baseball season rolls around, millions of people attend tryouts for their favorite team. Tryouts are always a little daunting—especially for newer players. After all, most people haven't played since the warm months of summer and they may feel a bit rusty.
“You get to experience new things every day,” Alyssa Davis a General Studies major and honor student, said.
When applying to colleges, many people have different views on the endeavor. Some people think that it is an exciting adventure filled with many turns and twists, and decisions that lead to a different outcome, while others may think that it is a stressful ideal, filled with looming questions, pressure, and “what if’s”. To Alaijah, she believed it was the latter. When I asked her how she felt, she said that it was “A heavy task. However,” She states. “Once you’ve done everything you need to do you feel accomplished.” She feels that way for the simple fact that she knows it will help her accomplish her goal of getting a better future for herself. When I asked if she thought about college a lot, she responded the way most students would respond.
College can be very helpful in more ways than just giving people more head knowledge. I do not disagree that people will benefit from learning a trade skill. In my personal opinion I think we should teach the basics of some trade skills in high school, and let the student decide if a college education is something they want to pursue. After coming to a college I do see that people should come even if it is for two years. The debt is always in issue when coming to school, but there are plans you can make to pay them off. Coming to college can do a lot to help anyone, but for the students that are coming right out of high school, college can be a safe place for them to experience the real world. In some cases it can give them some much needed
I am what would be considered a non-traditional applicant for medical school. As an undergraduate I did not know I wanted to be a physician, and I chose to major in electrical engineering. I have spent several years out of school employed in a professional environment working as a team member and utilizing my critical thinking skills. I have had experiences both professionally and personally beyond what the typical medical school applicant may have had. Therefore, if admitted, I would be able to contribute a unique perspective as someone who has walked an atypical path to a career in medicine.

Some of them are scared of the hardwork and dedication that they would have to commit to but the money that they would have to pay. There are alot of people that didn't go to college and are very successful. Although teachers make it seem like its a requirement to go to college, it’s not, it’s the students decision. It is not gonna help the teachers out when people go to college.

Coming to college has shown me information and knowledge I never thought I was capable of learning and it will be knowledge I will use for the rest of my life. I came to college last year for my own personal growth and to expand my horizons. I thought about what I wanted to do after high school and continuing my education was number one on my list. I’m here simply to better my future, expand my knowledge, increase my potential, and learn more about myself. I want to make my family and myself proud by completing college and getting a degree. Bettering my future and making sure I have the information to be able to do my future career is my top priority because it’s the only thing I have continually been working for since the 9th grade. Expanding my knowledge in these courses that will soon get me to the school I need to be at is a compelling reason for me to stay motivated enough to wake up in the morning and push myself to come to school. I hope to increase my potential and develop into
Coming to college is a monumental thing for me and having the opportunity to go to the College of Design is equally as big and frightening. I am excited and ready to start the school year and to learn all that I can during my studio classes but I am worried about the time commitment it entails. I see this as a challenge though. A challenge I’m willing to go through. I would say this is my biggest concern about the College of Design but not my only one. I have seen examples of older student’s work and seen how they have improved tremendously and although that fills me with awe and ease, I still feel a sense of worry because it takes me a small amount of time to pick up new methods of learning.
Since I was little I dreamed of going to college and become a nurse. Education is important to me because none of my family members had gone to college, and if I go it will be a family accomplishment and but also a personal one whereas helping people in need is one of the things I like the most. Besides, as a first generation going to college I will be an example to my younger siblings. I will be able to show them that if we work hard and commit to our dreams, we will accomplish them. I am planning to enroll full time in college and join clubs aligned with my degree. When I came to the United States the unknown of the English language was a challenge I had to overcome. However, it did not stop me to pursue my education, I started to create
I believe that every person should have the opportunity to go to college in order to thrive. However, a lot of kids decide not to because of the issue I am also facing, finances. I do have a job, but after bills are paid, not much is left over. I have to give my dad money every month for my car insurance and my mom money for my phone bill. This past year has been incredibly difficult on my parents. My father had an extreme cut in his work hours by almost 20 hours per week. This has created an extreme burden on my family. My mother and father did not have the opportunity to go to college themselves, simply because they could not afford it. My mom is an LNA at summer crest and has a low salary, due to only being able to be part time. My father is a steel maker at Rugers, and due
We are all making choices and decisions in everyday life however, good ones lead us on the right path while bad ones bring us to nowhere. However, my whole life the hardest decision I have ever made is getting into college. In my country, our education system is a bit different from other countries. First, we are mandatory to choose our major before getting into college. Second, we have two means to admit to a college. We take the first test which is named “qiyas“, and apply to schools in which we want to get into.
I am interested in applying for Limitless because I love being outdoors and hiking in new places. One of my electives that I’m taking this semester that I enjoy most is called Outdoor Survival Skills taught by Adam Strupp. We are making shelters, one was called the debris shelter, and the other one is called the lean-to shelter.
I believe that club sports are taking over and they will only become more prevalent in the future. The two biggest reasons for this shift are college recruiting and the cost of school sponsored sports for high schools.
