Wars have been ended in many ways. Some have ended in anti climatic endings while some end in total destruction of a country or a military. But World War 2 ended with the introduction to the nuclear age of war. Many peace activists say that the bombings that ended the war was very unnecessary and not the way to end a war. But others say that it ended the war quicker. In my opinion the bomb was a good way to show the Japanese who was stronger and brought the war to a quicker end.

World War II was considered as one of the deadliest war in the history. Many innocent civilians died due to the aggressiveness of the Axis powers because of this actions the Allies wanted to overthrow the Axis powers in response to its aggression and to establish a peaceful post-war. The United States decided to join the war along with the Allies after Japan’s surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, which destroyed a lot of United States battleships. At the time of the United States decision to drop the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, World War II had been waging for six years. Both Japan and the US had lost tons of supplies and resources, millions of dollars, and thousands of troops. The decision that finally ended the war was taken by the U.S on August 6, 1945, when the American bomber Enola Gay dropped the very first atomic bomb on the city of Hiroshima. Three days later, the second atomic bomb was dropped on Nagasaki, and Japan finally surrendered. However, Japan's surrender was not the intent of the United States when dropping these bombs- this was a diplomatic measure taken by the government to warn the Soviet Union against their growing influence in Europe. Dropping the atomic bombs was an unnecessary decision which cost the lives of over 300,000 innocent people and has detrimentally affected the health of generations to come.

I think it was necessary to drop the atomic bomb to end World War II because it would end the war earlier and stop the potential deaths of hundreds of thousands. Although critics state that the estimated casualties of the home island invasion are exaggerated, I do not agree with their assessment. Japan had millions of troops on the home islands along with millions of potentially armed civilians. The Japanese had a sheer devotion to their homeland and they were willing to fight to the death. Along with the invasion of Okinawa and its high casualty count, the invasion of Japan would create an enormous amount of death for both sides. In addition to the bombing of civilian targets, prolonging the war would definitely result in a higher death count.

The United States made a critical decision to use the atomic bomb not once, but twice, during World War II. This decision was dangerous and reckless, in my opinion. The use of the atomic bomb brought many innocent lives to a tragic and inhumane end. There are several alternatives the United States could have considered over using this weapon of mass destruction to make their presence known during the war.

World War II caused millions of deaths, civilian and otherwise. The death toll could have been much higher if the atomic bombs were not dropped. The United States made the correct decision to drop the atomic bombs. If the U.S. had not dropped these bombs the war could have carried on for years and taken millions more lives. If an invasion of Japan had taken place it would have likely taken years and millions of soldiers to cause surrender. No one wanted to prolong the war or cause more deaths than necessary, if the bombs had not been dropped history would likely be completely different.

Inventions have been accomplished due to the vast technology that is in place. Technology has led to the advancement of warfare in most parts of the world. The same technology has resulted in inventions that range from gunpowder to the atom that is splitting the environments across the borders. Although some people think dropping the atomic bombs on Japan wasn’t justified, I think that dropping the atomic bombs on Japan was justified.

World War 2 was one of the worst wars in world history. The allied forces, the U.S., France, China, Russia, and Great Britain, were at war against the axis powers, Germany, Italy, and Japan, to stop the nazis from taking over the world. There were many bad events and battles that happened over the 6 year time span of the war; but one of the worst has to be the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings at the end of the war. Thesis: The dropping of the atomic bomb during World War II by the United States on Japan was a justified act. Not only was the dropping of the atomic bomb used to save American lives, but it prevented the war from lingering on, taking the lives of more civilians. The bomb did not just make sense, but it saved lives, despite taking some, therefore making the atomic bomb a reasonable action. It is not war mentality to think of preserving the lives of innocent people when the safety of the world is at stake. War is immoral. War is cruel".
