The waste problem in our world has become atrocious. As explained in “A Dirty Dilema” by Zada Lipman, waste from factories is being dumped in rivers, lakes, and open areas with no one around it. In “The Truth About Recycling” written by Leo Hickman, it explains how waste is being checked for quality and how people are losing confidence about recycling. For my last article, "Recycling Rare-Earth-Metal Waste Using Hydrometallurgical Methods." by E. G. Polyakov and A. S. Sibilev, they explain how metals can be recycled for better use or better storage. Our environment is slowly being destroyed because of how we get rid of waste, but we are able to fix this problem.
For the longest time, factories have been throw their waste into rivers or lakes,
There are so many different ways our world can recycle ,The goal is to reduce the amount of waste ,
Recycling is a very essential and crucial process in our world today. The term recycling means that waste can be converted into new products instead of being discarded. As the population continues to grow, humans are using more and more products. In order to reduce the amount of waste on planet Earth, and to preserve its resources, recycling is significant. Not only does recycling allow the environment to thrive, but it also allows living people to thrive as well. There are many materials that can be recycled. Plastics, electronics, aluminum, food and glass are only but a few products that can be recycled. Recycling can benefit our environment in numerous amount of ways. However, without recycling, negative impacts on our environment can occur. Some of these effects include pollution whether it is air, land or sea, depletion of natural resources and even an increase threat to global warming. Therefore, recycling is extremely important to sustain our environment.
In 2012, Americans generated about 251 million tons of trash and recycled and composted almost 87 million tons of this material (“Municipal Solid Waste”). There are many ways to end our environmental crisis, such as reducing our amount of trash, recycling items, and reusing other items.
2) Tips on how to recycle(the solution) Practicing the concept of recycling will benefit us in our everyday life. Have you given a thought to the amount of energy you waste on an everyday basis? Do you really require the light to be switched on at your sink in the morning? Therefore, reduce the use of energy. This is simply because, a lot of materials are
America currently has a growing population of over 300 million people. Every day the average American produced 4.4 pounds of garbage. As a nation Americans produced over 200 million tons of waste in 2013. Only 34.4 percent of that waste was recovered. Over 65 percent of that garbage is left to rot and pollute the environment. Many other countries face the same epidemic. There are many ways Americans can reduce pollution and keep our planet cleaner, one for those ways for instance is recycling. Recycling defined is to treat or process used or waste materials, to make suitable for reuse. The process starts by knowing what to recycle and how. Understanding the effects and benefits of reprocessing can persuade people to make
Preview of Main Points: First, I will explain the problem with not recycling. Next, the causes of the not recycling. Last, the solution and what we can do.
Today there are several problems in the U.S and all over the world that affect our environment in a negative way. This research paper will discuss waste disposal and educate you on how it effects our earth. It will also provide some tips and steps on how to save our earth from being damaged by waste disposal. Further, It will tell you who waste disposal affects, who is trying to solve the problem and suggestions for future solutions. After discovering the many ways that rubbish is affecting the earth, maybe this will prompt everyone to do a small part, in order to save the planet.
When you associate words like shameless with everyday life you don’t think of it being a television show, one may think of shameless as a negative adjective used to describe a person showing a lack of shame, but it's a comedy/drama television show that really digs deep into real life scenarios and shows how a true dysfunctional family lives in the “hood” of Chicago. Shameless details how much leadership and mental stability Fiona Gallagher has to have in order to run a family of six in her early twenties.
Imagine you wake up in 20 years and all you see out your window is trash lining the streets and roads. This is what is going to happen if we don’t start recycling now. If we all start recycling now we will have beautiful streets and roads not full of trash. I picked this topic because it is a worldwide problem and I think this topic can be solved. I was very curious about this topic and I wanted to know more about recycling. These are some driving questions I had at the beginning of this project. Why don’t a lot of people recycle? What is the most recycled item? Where is recycling a very big problem in the world? How can more people be involved with recycling? How many people and animals get affected by recycling every year? My driving question was how can we as people create a better recycling society.
II. Listener Relevance- The world we live in is slowly being torn down by water pollution, air pollution, land pollution. Surprisingly, a very simple thing such as recycling helps reduce all of these.
These days, our earth has been filled by a lot of waste. There is a lot of garbage, plastic waste, and electronic waste. We always produce it and dump it when we need the new one. Our waste are piling up and continuously accumulating. Plastic waste is one of the biggest problems for us now. And our solution in this problem is recycling. In my opinion, recycling is a way to manage used items into new products. We can reduce, reuse, and recycling (3R) waste management (Peter, 2013). We can reduce our waste clothes with reuse it. There are some reasons why peoples recycle used or unwanted items, which are, prevent wasting unusable materials that still have usage after recycled, reduce the application of raw materials, reduce energy
Since the human being lived in this world, different kinds of waste were produced continuously. In the early years, the common wastes produced were biodegradable. There are no major problems with this since it will decompose over time. As the number of population increases and new inventions were made, the kind of waste produced by humans also increases. Some of these wastes include plastics, glass, metal, papers and many more. Some of waste scattered in the surroundings are recyclable. But due to improper waste management, these are not optimized.
Waste has been cataloged as a discrepancy within the system. This means that generators of wastes have created and designed a series of mistaken processes. According to Connet (n.d.), “Waste is the evidence that we are doing something wrong” (p. 1). Therefore, there is more beyond the concept of waste and its generation. It is not only the approach of how to dispose the waste or how to develop modern advance technologies that at some extent diminish wastes, but to reduce the levels of consumerism and to develop a closed loop as in electrical engineering, where the current (wastes) is not allow to move outside the loop. For Connet (n.d.) “instead of trying to become more sophisticated about getting rid of waste, we have to stop buying things we do not need, and industries have to stop making things, which cannot be reuse in some way” (p. 1). Certainly, there is the need for the industry to focus on product re-designed, in which the product life cycle does not end in disposing or any method that consumes energy for treatment or transformation, but to have a product that can be regenerated as usable and also be viable for substituting as virgin materials.
To begin, recycling helps minimize pollution. Go outside, can you see the stars? If not, it’s because of pollution. A major contributor to air pollution is the burning of waste that is sent to landfills. In fact, if recycling levels increase to 75% in the United States, it will have the same effect on carbon dioxide levels as if 55 million cars were removed from U.S. roads every year (Recycle). Recycling helps to reduce waste sent to incinerators, and thus reduces air pollution. Even through the processing of recycled items, pollution is lessened. For instance, studies show that "recycled paper produces approximately 70% less air pollution than if it was made from raw materials" ("Forty"). Air pollution both harms the earth and the people on it by contributing to global warming as well as respiratory diseases. That’s why every time people reduce waste, reuse, and recycle their garbage, they save the earth and even millions of lives from the harmful effects of pollution. Overall, requiring recycling will allow pollution rates to plummet and the environmental state of the earth to improve.
We, humans, are producing waste every day, polluting and destroying our planet. To save the world, many people believe recycling is the obvious solution. It is the process of converting certain waste into a reusable material. Therefore, the recycle motto is “Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle”. However, have you ever wondered why the word recycle is placed at the end? Well, it’s because it is not the only way to reduce waste and save the world from global warming. Recycling may have many advantages, but its disadvantages’ list is not a short one either. Recycling may look very simple and easy method, but when there is a need for a new unit of waste recycling, it takes up a lot of space. Not to mention the amount of money the building costs along with paying the staffs, buying new utility vehicles, upgrading the recycling unit and different types of chemical disposals. It is not only expensive but also, unhygienic, unsafe and unsightly with piles of waste materials on every location. These wastes spread infectious diseases putting human health at risk. Aside from recycling
