In my perspective, the monologue let the reader known what is the root of Amy’s ‘issues’ to say the least. She has been pretending someone she is not for far too long and now Amy is tired of playing such role. Another thing, is that even though, Amy pretended to be the ideal woman for Nick, he stills cheats on Amy with one of his younger, more attractive, and cooler student. It is apparent that assuming such a role in Amy’s case got her nowhere and falsely made her believe that she had control over the Nick since she thought she can make him do she wanted; however, she was powerless. Furthermore, the only thing Amy might have got is Nick’s attention, but by nature, a Cool girl is not design to make any decision on her own or offer a different
I sit in my house with guilt rushing through my blood. How could I do this to Rachel? How could I trick her into marrying me? Why have I focused my life on money instead of love? Why have I betrayed her? She sits quietly. Eating two meals at once like a great white shark devouring a fish. She concentrates on every little thing she does. For just a second I focus on her. Then my mind clouds, and one image has appeared. Vanessa. As if she controlled my mind and altered what thoughts I had. I have been having an affair with Vanessa, Rachel’s neighbor, for a little while now. She is as beautiful as a diamond in the sunshine. Her jet black hair falls perfectly to her shoulders, and her bright green eyes seem as though they look into her soul. Her
A great story! I first got a little bored when it was said that Jill’s father died, because this is not a very surprising plot, but your descriptions later really made a difference. Jill’s reaction was so real and I like how she finally talked to her mom, I mean the tear and the choke. Also you did a great job describing the setting and the change of the setting, from the warm and comfortable to cold and biting. This change fits well with the change of Jill’s mind and actually reinforced how she was influenced by the tragedy. Something you may want to know is I am a little bit confused when you switch to tell the office and thoughts of Joseph. It kind of broke the consistency of the description of Jill. Also there are a lot of background information
Sarah-Alice was in the football field as she smiled happy to be back at Long Beach High after a long summer knowing how that right now this is a new year to start. She then saw the cheerleaders for the first time only to then say,"Alright I need you girls to start doing five laps and then some stretches so we can practice some routines before our Football team comes." She then saw her team start to do her laps while she took her coat only to then show her workout outfit since it was now eighty degrees out. Sarah-Alice then smiled as she ran with her team only to do some stretches until the girls were staring at the team. She then had her eyes caught on one certain god in human form. She knew on the back of his shirt said Winchester so she knew
I was wrong about Catherine- and I’m not embarrassed to say that in any way. But regardless of first impressions, and regardless of whatever is at work in this universe, I’m thankful for what kept us together.
Maggie realized that if she had said no words or have not thought any thoughts, maybe she would forget how to speak too.
It's two days before Abby’s best friend Sarah birthday party and Abby’s mother still haven't told her she could attend or not. Abby’s mother didn't really like Sarah she thought that Sarah was a bad influence on Abby. Ever since the two started hanging out with each other Abby is not the same person that she used to be. For example, she started wearing makeup, and coming home after curfew on schools night. Abby seems more out of control now a days and Abby’s mother blamed Sarah as the source of the problem.
It was December fourth, two thousand fourteen; a sad, scary day for sure. This day was the day Amy LaVancha was diagnosed with cancer. Hodgkin's Lymphoma cancer. Though this cancer has an eighty six percent survival rate after five years, it was still super scary.
Alma stood beside the mule, with Boomer sitting beside her, growling whenever he saw any motion that might present a threat. The few men working in the muggy area did not seem interested in them. Alma used the shield of her bonnet to study the men who lounged about in the mud. Most were as brown as the mud around them.
Amy enters relationships with unrealistic expectations, and to keep up the appearance of these standards, she cons her friends, boyfriends, and husband into appearing abusive or insane (Flynn 386). Amy’s addictions to control and playing the role of the victim allow her to continue manipulating the truth. She graduates from claiming she was stalked, to insisting she was raped, until finally pretending she was murdered by her husband, Nick (Flynn 387). Unlike with the obsessions of Gatsby and Dick, Amy’s obsession stems not only from her failure to keep of the façade of a perfect relationship, but also her inner need to be seen as innocent. All three characters are blinded by their compulsions to hide the truths of their lives and put on a front of perfection. The impossibility to give up perfection leads to the end of rationality and an unyielding determination to uphold the façade. A dreamer is bound to be disappointed, but will continue to manipulate his or her reality, hoping in vain that excessiveness will allow the dreamer to overcome their failures. Trying to manipulate reality for a veneer of perfection leads to the development of an addiction to the perfection, causing indulgences and irrational decisions that continue to destroy the lives of the
She runs past the city park near her home; the streets aren’t too crowded, only a few pass by. As the morning cool air doesn’t bother her. Thinking of she has to be independent even work part-time within her full-time school. Every word she heard from the surrounding people, she never listened, because she believes that the death of her parents wasn’t that awful.
This thinks about Melinda's trouble. She is separated from everyone else, segregated. She doesn't have anybody to converse with, to speak with, to communicate with and disclose to her profound and complex sentiments to. This prompts the developed of sentiments which will influence her a calm, to bashful, troubled individual. This will devastate her and convey her to pieces since she will continue everything in and will never be able to express her thoughts, sentiments, musings, and emotions.
I'm not in the mood of going to lunch, we have an hour-long lunch every day. The food is quite good, it really is. I mean some days are better than others, but I can't stand those goddamn sonuvabitches that order postmates. Goddamn freshmen do it all the time, they don't know how much the cafeteria staff tries to please everyone. There are a lot of phony bastards here.
Amy’s speech points out the problem with the way that women and men pretend to be someone that they are not upon meeting. Amy describes the “cool girl” as “hot and understanding,” someone who “adores football, poker, dirty jokes and burping..” and says that “cool girls never get angry; they only smile in chagrined loving manner and let their men do whatever they want” (222). Taking her words out of character, as she can hardly be trusted with her deception, self-mutilation and killing throughout the novel, Amy’s word ring true. The concept that men “actually think this girl exists” and “they’re fooled because so many women are willing to pretend to be this girl” Amy brings up is far from fiction and can be seen in our modern society (222). So many women, just like Amy, put on this façade in order to be liked, in order to attract men and validate themselves that they are in fact doing something right as a
You You know how people say that being an only child is sooooooooo nice, it's not what you think. To me being an only child is hard especially when none of your friends live by you. Well Im in 6th grade now and I hang out with my best friends a lot.
My goal when I started this rotation is to learn all psychiatric medications, their side effects and important counselling points so that I do not have to worry about for my Naplex exam.
