What caused the revolution?
There were multiple things that caused the American Revolution. The mainly known reasons are the taxes put on the colonist by England to pay off the debt from the french and indian war, which made the colonist very angry; the colonist wouldn't take anymore taxation without representation. Also the age of enlightenment when many of the colonist studied scientific reasoning to politics and religion, this made the colonist question there freedom. lastly the american people where angry because the merchants had been affected by the “acts” that where ruining there business causing them to smuggle to other countries even though England forbid them too.
One thing that caused the revolution was the British government, That imposed taxes to pay for the troops they had stationed in the colonies to defend the french forces in Canada. When the British was in control of Canada from France less troops where needed. as the amount of troops went down the tax on the colonist went down except for on the imported tea. The colonist had no reason for the British to be taxing them so

Without those central ideas of enlightenment the United States would be fairly different since these ideas shaped america in its earlier years. The enlightenment helped the colonist realize that the taxes the British government where imposing on them where uncalled for.The colonist declared these taxes unfair and protested against them. without enlightenment thinking the revolutions wouldn't have happened because it made all the colonist aware of what the British government was actually doing. Also the enlightenment allowed people to chose there own religion instead of tying them down to one specific church; Making less conflict between the colonist allowing them to be
The American Revolution was primarily prompted by the colonists views of the British controls over them They were forced into many seemingly unfair acts, such as taxation (without benefits ), british troops taking residence within their homes, and an limitation upon their settlement. They were at such distance where the colonists were not directly under control, and thus were able to see the treatment as immoral and unjust against them. This prompted the American Revolution.
There were many causes that are thought to have played a factor in the American Revolution. One of them being the Boston Tea Party. When Parliament decided to impose a tax on the colonies, the colonies in turn decided to boycott goods imported from the British. Upon shipments of tea from The East India Tea Company arriving by ships at the american ports, colonists dressed themselves as indians and snuck onto three ships. After boarding the ships the disguised colonists threw over-board valued today at over 4 million dollars worth. Another cause is the Stamp act, where the British tried to tax all newspapers and documents that were printed and this outraged the colonist. The Townshend Acts was another contributor to the American Revolution.
What caused the American Revolution? The colonists were not fight for separation from Britain yet. However they were fighting for their rights as citizens. Three of the reasons for their actions were: the Stamp Act, violations of basic rights, and the Intolerable Acts. These events led to the American Revolution.
These are only two of the many other events that lead to the Revolution. The overall cause was that the Americans wanted their full citizen rights just as at British people in Germany. The big major thing that caused the Revolution were the Intolerable Acts. At this period of time there were many acts getting passed through the government. Such as the Sugar Act, the Currency Act, the Stamp Act, and the Quartering Act.
Another one of the reasons that caused the American Revolution was The Boston Tea Party. Everyone that was involved in the Boston
The American Revolution was the political uprising that occurred in the last half of the 18th century. This was basically the time when the thirteen colonies decided to join together to become the United States of America. The major thing that the colonies disagreed was that they were not given any say in the government. They refused the British government to take charge and govern them through the Parliament of Great Britain. There is still disagreement on what the actual cause or the motivating factor behind the American Revolution was. Many people also go on to say that Americans were bound to attain independence and thus were bound to split away from the British. Factors such as violation of personal rights, economic disparity and increased propaganda were the major drivers for this revolution to start. As for inevitability, there were many things that could have stopped this revolution to take place as well.
The causes of the American Revolution go back to the beginning of salutary neglect and the French and Indian War, as well as changes in the thinking of society. The effects of these events and other factors led to pressure within the colonies, ultimately resulting in rebellion.
The American Revolution was caused by a variety of things such social, political, and economical factors, but it was primarily initiated by unfair taxes and laws placed by the British on the unrepresented colonists. Colonist had no representatives in the British Parliament which meant they had no say or opinion in any of Britain's affairs. Colonist felt that they were being treated unfair and that they could not be taxe without being represented, the British felt that they were in the right to place taxes on colonists due to how much money the colonies owe after the French and Indian War. After the British started to pass taxes and laws in the colonies things escalate quickly, people started to see the British as an enemy “King George is a tyrant. He breaks the laws.He is an enemy of his own people”-Patrick Henry, many people in the colonies felt the same way as Patrick Henry did and eventually the colonist got fed up of taxes and the laws and desired dependence from England.
The revolution began when the Americans felt that they needed their freedom. Prior to the war, the British government had been using unfair methods to subject Americans to barbarity. For instance, they had decided that America was to pay hugely for the losses incurred during the French and Indian War. The British had also been making unnecessary taxes on the Americans which the latter considered unnecessary and a big annoyance to their freedom.
The introduction of the Tea Act in 1773 was a leading cause of the American Revolution — but it wasn’t the only cause. Growing American opposition to the British, and fundamental differences in ideology between the British and Americans also contributed to causing the American Revolution.
What caused the American Revolution? Like most disputes throughout history, it started over money and respect. On March 22, 1765, nearly 250 years ago, British Parliament passed The Stamp Act, this was the first internal tax imposed on all American colonists that required them to pay a tax on every piece of printed paper. After emerging victoriously from the Seven Years War (1756-63) against the French, Britain now had one of the biggest empires in the world, unfortunately they also had the biggest debt, as a result of defending the American colonies. The British government felt that the colonies should share in the costs of the war and assist in the payment of British troops in America. Although, the British government felt the Stamp Act was reasonable and just in requiring the colonies to share the costs of their own defense through taxes, the Americans disagreed. Their pocketbooks weren’t the only things that felt a pinch, they felt their local liberties were being attacked and that The Stamp Act was unconstitutional. Without any colonial representatives in the British Parliament, colonists felt they had no say on the taxes and therefore felt they had “taxation without representation”. Aggravated colonists took
There are some causes that lead up to the American revolution. One of the causes was the Boston massacre. The night where British soldiers fired upon a group of patriots and killed five. If you tell the story this way it seems like murder and that is what the Patriots wanted to make it sound like but when the guards went to quart none were charged with murder. What happens because of this was that this made the patriots mad so they made a picture to make the British look bad and named it the Boston massacre mainly to strike fear into the people and help the Patriots get more people on their side. On another topic the king puts the stamped act in play witch was a tax that went for anything that was paper. In effect this made the colonists mad
The causes of the American Revolution don’t just start at the acts that were passed, they go way back. Starting in 1763, the end of the French and Indian war. Wars are costly, so after this war Britain was in great debt, so as always they put that on the colonists, raising their taxes. Next is the Treaty of Paris 1763 when British gained land because of their win in the French and Indian War. From this gain of land, settlers began to move west making the Natives very unhappy. To save Britain from another all out war, they decided to pass the Proclamation of 1763 which stated that settlers were permitted to settle west of the Appalachian Mountains. This made the Natives happy, but us colonists felt differently. Britain should have fought for our land and our rights, instead they just gave it up to the Natives. Shows how much they care about us, right!
The American Revolution was prompted by the injustice towards the thirteen colonies from Britain. The French and Indian War was a brawl between France and Britain for the domination over North America. Having myriad allies benefitted France, leading them to victory. Britain determined to pay for its war debt by raising taxes on the American colonists. The colonists frustration was more based on them being unable to express their stance on the circumstance, having no American representative in the Parliament.

It took several years and many events to push the colonists to a point where they wanted to fight for their independence. Below are some of the key causes of the American Revolution in the order they occurred. The Founding of the Colonies One thing to keep in mind is that many of the American colonies were first founded by people trying to escape religious persecution in England. As the British government became more involved in the affairs of colonies, people began to worry that they would once again lose their freedoms. French and Indian War The French and Indian War took place between the American colonies and New France. Both sides allied with various Native American tribes. This war lasted from 1754 to 1763. British troops not only helped the colonists to fight the war, but were stationed in the colonies for protection after the war. These troops weren't free and Britain needed money to pay for the troops. The British Parliament decided to tax the American colonies to help pay for the troops. Taxes, Laws, and More Taxes Prior to 1764, the British government had pretty much left the colonists alone to govern themselves. In 1764, they began to impose new laws and taxes. They implemented a number of laws including the Sugar Act, Currency Act, Quartering Act, and the Stamp Act. The colonists were not happy with the new taxes. They said they should not have to pay British taxes because they had no representatives in the British Parliament. Their motto became "No Taxation Without Representation." Protests in Boston Many colonists began to protest against these new British taxes and laws. A group called the Sons of Liberty formed in 1765 in Boston and soon spread throughout the colonies. During one protest in Boston, a fight broke out and several colonists were shot and killed. This incident became known as the Boston Massacre. In 1773, the British imposed a new tax on tea. Several patriots in Boston protested this act by boarding ships in Boston harbor and dumping
