The American Revolution erupted on April 19, 1775 because the American Colonies were dissatisfied with England mismanagement and their reluctance to compromise with taxation and strict trading policies. Due to previous war, Great Britain had huge debt that had to be paid. The British claimed they had fought the long and costly war to protect its American colonies from the French in Canada. So it was only right they should be taxed. However, the American Colonies disagreed, Angry, they immediately began to rebuke British goods and that is what ultimately led to the revolutionary war.
Causes of the American Revolution The American Revolution, under deep analysis, reveals the various causes that are factored into the breakout of the war. These causes include the tax acts, Boston Tea Party and Massacre, and lack of respect towards the colonists. The main reasons for the revolution were, the Boston tea party which was the first major act of violence by the colonists, and involved the king. The first Continental congress, which was set up because of the intolerable acts. And finally the second continental congress that started off the revolution.
There are three main causes of the american revolution. Including Acts that involved taxes , another being the boston tea party, and lastly the second continental congress. All of these events lead to the colonists cutting ties to great britain ,which lead to the American Revolution.
The American Revolution began for two reasons: political and economic, while the French Revolution began with domination and mismanagement that contributed to the French society. During the Revolution many events occurred having a major effect, such as the sugar act, currency act, and the Townshend act. The French began the Tennis Court Oath, the Storming of the Bastille, and the overthrown of Monarchy. The French Revolution followed in suit with the American Revolution, because the French were in favor for what the American Revolution was fighting for.
The American Revolution was a war that happened between 1775-1783 where the 13 colonies in America gained independence from Great Britain and became the United States of America. Over time there have been several different historical interpretations about the causes of the American Revolution. Many of these interpretations lack evidence or provide a very one sided claim. The best explanation for the causes of the American Revolution out of the 5 passages provided is “A Democratic Movement” written by Robert Brown because it had the most historical evidence to back the explanation.
The American Revolution (1775-1783) was a war between England and the colonies which were settled earlier by the English. There were many factors and events that led to the American Revolution. The Revolution was mainly an economic rebellion that was fueled by taxation without representation following the French and Indian War. The English Parliament was more often than not considered cruel and unfair by the colonists. With conflicts over trade, taxes and government representation, the colonies were at a starting line of a revolution that would later transform into the basis of the United States of America.
The causes of the American Revolution go back to the beginning of salutary neglect and the French and Indian War, as well as changes in the thinking of society. The effects of these events and other factors led to pressure within the colonies, ultimately resulting in rebellion.
The revolution in America was due to the fact that the colonies did not want to pay higher tax revenues. They felt that they did not have representation in the British parliament, these led to America wanting independence from Britain.

Many people have the misconception that the American Revolution occurred because British colonists did not want to be British citizens any longer. This may have been the case for a select few, but many British colonists desired to maintain their status as British colonists and citizens. The foremost reason that the colonists began protests, boycotts, and petitions against the British was because they believed their innate rights as British citizens were being violated. The American Revolution occurred due to a chain of events and a complex set of intertwined reasons.
There were many causes that brought on the start of the American Revolution. A great deal of the civil unrest was brought on by the acts that followed the end of the French and Indian War. At the end of the war, most of which was fought on American soil, England had incurred a dept almost double that of when William Pitt took office. Because the war was fought for the colonists, much of England believed that that they should be the ones to recoup the great financial loss that England had suffered. The colonists disagreed, as they saw it the French and Indian War served to strengthen England’s hold in the colonies, and as British subjects they should not be held accountable, while those in Britain paid nothing.
Revolution can be defined as the overthrow of a government in favor of a new system. This is exemplified in the events of the Russian, French, and American Revolutions. The three nations, all upset with the unjust rule of their leaders and unfavorable economic and social atmospheres, decided that change needed to be made. They then took action and revolted in hopes of change and progress. The Russian, French, and American Revolutions all took place in hopes of political, social, and economic change.
Before the American Revolution the colonies seemed like they were mostly independent from each other, but they were actually ruled by the monarchical government. In the decades leading up to the American Revolution many events took place, but only some truly began the American Revolution. One such event is the first Great Awakening. The first Great Awakening was a rejuvenation of the Protestants that affected British America and Protestant Europe. Another was the success that the colonial army showed when fighting, and the failure of the British army along with that. The success that the colonists achieved was the victory in the war against the French which gave them gusto and confidence in their military power. This combined with the loss that the British army proved that they were not invulnerable, and could be defeated. The final event that started the American revolution was the British taxation on the colonists. After the British had lost the war the British began taxing the colonists more than they did before, enraging the colonists. A multitude of events could have started the American Revolution, but only a few like the taxation of the colonists undoubtedly started the American Revolution.
