Sandra Cisneros, an author who is deeply inspired by her Mexican American heritage. This inspiration is clearly shown throughout every one of her writing pieces such as “Salvador Late or Early” and “Eleven”. Both short-stories focus on adolescents with a mature mindset and adult precision, and each story does a marvelous job portraying Cisneros constant writing style. “Salvador Late or Early” is focusing on a young boy, Salvador, with heavy burdens to carry on his shoulders, which is unfortunate because he is such a young boy with an old soul. The responsibilities he has are unimaginable due to the fact they don’t pertain to his age. The short-story “Eleven” is about an eleven-year-old girl named Rachel, a forthright character who explains

Imagine a third grader, small and blonde, standing on a stage that practically swallows her. She gazes in awe at the bright lights that seem to tower miles above her head; likewise, she follows with a stare, fixating on the hundreds of darkened faces that remain directly in front of her. Unlike her classmates who fidget with nerves beside her, she feels a rush of adrenaline. What may have seemed to some an ordinary choir concert in a dull auditorium, was, to me, a life changing moment. Ever since this day, for 9 years now, I have had an unwavering passion for music and performing. As I aged, I found myself excitedly learning how to play 7 new instruments, but even considering the vast number of bands, orchestras, choirs, and instrumental lessons that I joined, I noticed myself
In the first grade, I picked up a clarinet. It was my sister’s, collecting dust while waiting for me to play it. From the moment I produced my first sound, an ear-piercing squeal that frightened my dog, the path of my life took a turn for the better. I began teaching myself for the following three years, along with learning from my sister how to properly play the beautiful instrument. The music pushed me out of my comfort zone: concerts that forced me onstage, tests that made me play difficult songs, and teachers that pushed me to be an exceptional player. From the shy elementary school student I used to be to the outgoing band member I take joy in being today, music has shaped my everyday life.
Louis Hémon creates a story of the rural life in a family of the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region, the Chapdelaine’s. He uses the climate and traditional values in a way in which the novel still has an ironic and crucial element. Also, the beginning of the novel on Ite, missa est[1] is (“the mass”) a claim on religious behaviour, a main theme in this novel. Maria Chapdelaine, a novel personifying the spirit of French Canada at its most romantic, was written by

“I wish I was one hundred and two”, Sandra Cisneros states directly the insecurity, frustration , and the immaturity position of Rachel’s personality. Ever struggled through a relationship in which there is unrequited love? Love is very complicated and couples often get caught up within themselves. Even Sandra Cisneros has gone through this life struggle just like many other people. Sandra Cisneros was able to write “Once Again I Prove the Theory of Relativity” by using past life experiences and events to come up with literary devices such as intriguing similes, metaphors, and idioms to reveal the heightened idealism and intensity of one’s emotional responses in a relationship. Sandra Cisneros’ life events helped shape her as she grew up and is now noted for the feminist views that she expresses in her works as she portrays roles of strong Mexican American women.
Sandra Cisneros uses a few literary techniques to characterize Rachel. She uses her own personal experiences/feelings, she writes it in first person, and gave examples about how other ages act or feel to get the reader to want to read more almost like persuasion. Sandra Cisneros uses first person words all throughout the essay in order to make the reader picture themselves in the spot and situation of Rachel. Sandra uses “I” and “my” in order to draw in the readers. The author wrote sentences such as “you open your eyes and everything's just like yesterday.
