Not every school. Also, a lot of those comments or statement were just opinions. Not valid facts.
After reading the case study, what I know is that the National Honor Society (NHS), is one of the finest organizations and students who have excel, is recognized. The students are base on the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship. Students are not nominated by their peers but by the teachers, that the students have encountered and established a relationship with. There is not one teacher that select an eligible member, it's a committee. The committee consist of teachers and they based each application by the criteria of scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship. All factors are considered for membership, not just academics.
Thank you for the opportunity to apply for this unique scholarship. This award shows me that you recognize your alumni as being vital to the campus. I’ve had a long family history with your school. My great grandmother Florence Wilson attended the former Platteville State Teacher College and taught a year before marrying my great grandfather. My grandfather, Kenneth Wilson, attended the University of Wisconsin Platteville and studied agriculture. His education was beneficial in his career in farming. He needed to leave school after two years in order to work full time on the farm and to raise seven children. Three of his children attended UW-Platteville. My uncle Kurt Wilson started teaching physical education in Lodi after receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Education. He is still enjoying his job there. My mother, Lynette Wilson (Potter) received a Bachelors of Science degree in Art and a Masters of Science in Counselor Education. She has had many creative positions and has worked with a variety of people over the years. Her artwork has been published in national magazines as well as local papers. She was dedicated to her job working with the developmentally
Each year, the Davey Foundation, of Davey Tree, strives to give more than they did the year before.
The United States Service Academies include illustrious and storied histories, including a proud tradition sure to endure with each successive generation. Extraordinary students possessing a sense of urgency, competitive drive, and the desire to become part of a storied tradition await serious preparation beginning as early as one’s sophomore year of high school. Excepting the Merchant Marine Academy, those earning admittance to these incredibly competitive institutions receive both scholarships and salaries for their entire academic tenure. Graduation earns each student cadet a Bachelor of Science degree and a commission in a branch of the United States Armed Forces. As showcased earlier with our hypothetical law student, many academic parallels,
My goal in attending a United States Service Academy and becoming an officer in the military is to provide myself ample opportunities to reach my established life goals. I plan to pursue a career in aerospace engineering, and developing that career through one of the academies will help me to achieve the dreams I had as a child. I have many strengths that will help me stand out in the application process, but at the same time, I have challenges to overcome. However, these obstacles will not hinder me from from pursuing my passion.
I remember once hearing: “To reach the impossible you just have to try a little harder”. Sometimes I feel like I don’t try my hardest, therefore I don’t get the results I want. I’m in high school right now as a junior, meaning that the decisions I make from now on are crucial and will affect my future. A big step to accomplish what I want to do when I grow up, is planning for what I will do after I graduate from high school and how I’m going to surpass the obstacles that will be presented to me. Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC), home of the blue beards, is reputed for being a “Military-Friendly College”. (DMACC) It will provide me with the opportunity to reach my dream of becoming a teacher and transferring my knowledge to the next
I believe that I should receive the YCL scholarship due to my extracurricular activities, specifically with the student organization Christian Business Leaders. During my freshman year at Illinois State University, I created a Christian based business Registered Student Organization. Throughout my freshman year, I used this time to plan and recruit an executive team. Then, at the beginning of my sophomore year, Christian Business Leaders became an officially recognized student organization. The mission statement of the organization is "To foster a Christ centered organization that encourages service through Christ and leadership in business”. Under my leadership, Christian Business Leaders won several awards during our first year on campus.
While in college I plan on joining the Airforce ROTC and studying aerospace engineering in hopes of becoming a pilot. This will require a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering. During my studies, I plan on being a member of student government and other student organizations. I am very interested in government and politics, also I am very social. When I graduate college I plan on serving in the United States Air Force.
National Honor Society is more than a club I am apart of, it has given me the motivation to strive to keep my grades at a certain level, keep up with community service, treat others with respect, and also conduct myself in a mature manner. The National Honor Society Scholarship would help fund my schooling at Gulf Coast State College in Panama City, Florida.
Very few studies focus on the limited engagement of Black alumni who graduate from PWIs. Even fewer offer suggestions as to how to increase this engagement. Black alumni are more likely to be engaged with the university when they have had positive undergraduate experiences (Gaier, 2005). These positive experiences are due to the relationships that were developed while they were students on campus. Newman and Petrosko (2011) describe it as a positive emotional attachment, which generates alumni loyalty.
During the Alumni Panel: Writing Across the Professions I learned how writing is a critical part to any job because it is an important skill that many people do not thrive in. Mostly everyone on the panel went onto work in the business world after attending Loyola. All of the panelists shared the same sort of story. They loved to write but they could not find a job that would allow them to do what they had majored in during university. After graduation many of them felt lost but the did not realize how valuable this unique skill set was and they also did not expect employers to see this as a beneficial asset to their company. When companies write proposals or when they draft up contracts they are not the most proficient person for the job.
My dad Simon Segal suggested I contact you regarding a career I am considering in Actuarial Studies. I have recently completed the HSC and have applied for UNSW's COOP scholarship. I was successful in gaining an interview for actuarial studies on the 24th of November. I would appreciate the opportunity to meet with you to gain an insight into the role of an actuary, future career paths, the actuarial course at UNSW and your own experience in the corporate and academic world as an actuary. Would it be possible to meet prior to my interview on the 24th, either in St Ives for a quick chat or wherever else suits you?
The reason for me going to college is my desire to become an engineer. I am going to get my Bachelor’s degree in an engineering program (currently undecided engineering) at S&T and after I graduate I will join the military. I have always (from about 8 years of age) had a desire to join the military. It has been my nearly single minded goal for my career and I have been preparing since I was 12 years old. I have participated in Civil Air Patrol for 2 years and NJROTC at my high school for 4 years. I will be enrolling in ROTC at S&T (probably Air Force ROTC). I have applied for the Army High School ROTC 4-year Scholarship and I have already won a 4-year Air Force ROTC High School Scholarship which pays full tuition and books at S&T. After graduating
