Alcoholism and Resources. Alcoholism is a growing problem in the United states. About eighteen million people in the U.S. have this disorder. Alcoholism is a serious problem that can be helped if a person receives treatment. Throughout the United States there are many resources like the Farley center whose goal is to help Alcoholics recover and get back into society. Places like the Farley center offer different treatment plans depending on the severity of a given person’s situation, for instance they may only have you stay a few days or up to 3 months, they have a 12-Step program, and the patient gets a personalized treatment created by the qualified professionals at the center. Some examples of hotlines or organizations are; The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug dependence, this is a 24-hour hotline that can be called for information, there is also Alcoholics Anonymous which has helped many people all over the United States. These AA meetings are located all over the United States, and can be found in most towns. There are also In-patient treatment centers that can help by creating a step by step program to help that person recover. There are also good out-patient resources that can work around work schedules and it includes a large majority of the same stuff that an in-patient facility offers, but the person gets to go home to their own home at night. The Farley Center offers both an in-patient program and an out-patient program. With the in-patient program you may just need to stay for a short 3 days but if needed you may need to say for the full 3 months to get a more extensive treatment. Both in-patient and out-patient offer group or individual help, an intervention and the 12 step program. When a Person goes to the Farley center they will have a treatment specially crafted to their needs to help the patient as best as possible.
