Write This Down by George Strait The song I chose talks about not telling the person you love how you feel until it’s too late and they are too far gone. Coming from the quote “you don’t know what you have tell you lose It”. I’ve heard this quote from dozens of people, maybe it’s because people relate to it by personal experiences. The reason I chose this song is because well for one I love George Strait, second because I relate to the lyrics and it can connect to anything not just couples, perhaps a friend or for example, there’s me I relate to it because I regret not telling my stepdad how much I appreciate everything he did for me and for not telling him how much I love him before he was long gone and now that I have no way to communicate
My wife and I celebrated our two-year anniversary in August. “Whatever It Is” by Zac Brown and Keith Stegall had been on the radio for years when we met. It is funny how a song written so far in advance of an event can still mean so much in a person’s life. "Whatever It Is" exemplifies the adoring relationship I have with my wife in the way it makes me smile and want to sing, the way the lyrics remind me of all the ways I appreciate and love her, and because it was our wedding song.
In reality, I was struggling to find a song that I could really relate to. It wasn’t until I asked my parents about what song I could somehow relate to and my dad was the one who pointed out “Pelo Suelto” by Gloria Trevi. After listening to the song, he suggested, I could see why he chose that song for me. I could relate to the overall meaning behind the song.
I am going to share with you the story of how Luke Bryan saved country music in his hometown. He could sing so loud he could knock a building over. When he was a baby he would scream so loud he knocked down the walls of his own house! He discovered he could sing at a young age, so he decided that was what he wanted to do for his future. He thought about opera because he could sing so loud, but he went with the path country music instead.
One of my favorite songs is Live Like You Were Dying by Tim McGraw, and it is a song about living life to the fullest. People should always live life to the fullest because you never know when it will be taken away from you. By singing “When it sank in That this might really be the real end How's it hit you When you get that kind of news? Man, what'd you do?” (McGraw), Tim McGraw is showing his listeners that sometimes life is taken away from you earlier than expected. Later in the song McGraw says “I was finally the husband That most of the time I wasn't And I became a friend a friend would like to have” (McGraw). These three lines show the listeners that in a person’s last days, they realize what is most important in life. McGraw’s lyrics
For generations, singers and songwriters of country music have been working to evoke emotions in listeners by performing and writing songs that the listeners will be able to relate to. Country music traditionally reveals stories of life, love, death, and values, all of which can be seen in the works of great singers and songwriters like George Strait, Alabama, Brooks & Dunn, and Alan Jackson. One artist in particular, Garth Brooks, forever left his stamp on country music and on the hearts of his millions of listeners with his hit songs, “The Beaches of Cheyenne”, “Callin’ Baton Rouge”, and “The River”. “The Beaches of Cheyenne” has a storyline containing themes of life, death, love, and regret. The themes of this song branch out much
Generally, people go to extreme lengths to prove their love for one another. For example, a close friend of mine refrained from kissing a girl he loved through several months of dating to prove the authenticity of his love for her. In the end, the sole kiss he gave her was a first kiss goodbye, which freed her for another man to pursue her.
George Strait Research Paper George Strait, better known as the King of Country Music, has been in the country music industry for almost forty years (Hazighurst 12). He has become one of the most widespread country music singers to this day. He began a long time ago and is still currently going steady today. Strait has more than sixty number one hits, more than anyone else in history does. George Strait has opened the eyes for country music and has paved the pathway for other country singers today, all while staying true to the contemporary sound of country music.
Have you ever wondered why George Strait is the King of Country music? With Georges many followers across the world and many awards he received this means he would be set up for success right? George has had a lot of major and minor challenges throughout his background and career, but that hasn’t slowed him down any on his awards and number one hit singles and albums. Lets go over George’s background, career, and awards and number one hits.
Artists write or compose things for a specific reason, usually this is to convey a feeling to the listener or reader. When words are placed with music, it can change how a person hears or thinks of a song. In the song “Run” by George Strait he creates a feeling of desperation and longing not only with his lyrics, but also with the melody that goes along with it. Music is powerful, and it can change your attitude towards something just by the sound and tone of music. By adapting a song into a letter, one can either change the meaning of the whole song or allow it to give the reader the same feeling as before. I changed George’s song into a letter to show how things can be different or the same when you take music out of a piece.. In my adaptation
The song I chose was “I’m Sorry” by the artist Joyner Lucas. This song has a pretty deep meaning to me. It’s about a man who commits suicide. Last year around Christmas time I met this guy. He was a friend of a close family member of mine. He was always hanging around them so naturally we started talking. I’m the type of person who cares about people a little too much. I started noticing that he got more quiet and more to himself. I never thought he wanted to hurt himself. I trusted him and he knew he could trust me too. Things at home weren’t good. He was hurting. No kid should ever go through that (he is my age).
Country music is everywhere in the United States. It is America and people either love it or hate it. There is usually no middle ground. It accounts for sixteen percent of the nation’s radio stations and is the most common genre played on the radio. There are many different types of country music around today, including Americana, bluegrass, honky tonk, and contemporary country. Music of all genres has an evolution through the years. Country music hasn't
Throughout my lifetime, there have been moments of laughter as well as grief. The first time I felt what it was truly like to lose the love of my life I ended up heartbroken and devastated. From that moment on my perception of love changed completely. The song by Christian Nodal- “Adios Amor” showed me how at times when the love fades between partners to the point where there is no love at all, you have to do your best to move on rather than spending time grieving the love that is lost. Therefore, the song “Adios Amor” taught me that some relationships are best to let go of if they don’t work as a young adult, and will continue to guide me throughout my life.
One of the main reasons I chose to research memory was because it reminded me of a song that I know very well. The song is called My Favorite Memory by Merle Haggard. In the song he sings these words “First time we met is a favorite memory of mine. They say time changes all it pertains to but your memory is stronger than time.” I settled with this song for several obvious reasons like being about a memory and being a song I know. Merle Haggard’s song is a hit off of his album Big City. In this song, he sings about a memory he remembers with a girl. Throughout the song he talks about all the different things he remembers either doing or just enjoying with this particular girl. I related the meaning behind this song to just the word memory. Memory
I picked “A Thousand Year” by Christina Perri. I love this song since the first time that I heard it. This song tells you that time can fly, and we can die but even thou he/she will love you for an eternity. My second song is “Because You Love Me” by Celine Dion. She transmits a message thru this song about the person that has been with her forever and how graceful she is to be with him. The singer cannot be more clear when she sings “You were my strength when I was weak, You were my voice when I couldn't speak, You were my eyes when I couldn't see, You saw the best there was in me
George Harvey Strait was born and bred in the Texas cowboy tradition.
