Rough Draft Essay #4 The song I chose was “I’m Sorry” by the artist Joyner Lucas. This song has a pretty deep meaning to me. It’s about a man who commits suicide. Last year around Christmas time I met this guy. He was a friend of a close family member of mine. He was always hanging around them so naturally we started talking. I’m the type of person who cares about people a little too much. I started noticing that he got more quiet and more to himself. I never thought he wanted to hurt himself. I trusted him and he knew he could trust me too. Things at home weren’t good. He was hurting. No kid should ever go through that (he is my age). A couple weeks later things seemed like they were getting better. He used music as his escape. Me and him would talk about different songs that we liked and how they affected how we felt. Cheesy stuff like that. Then one night at around 11 p.m. ish he sends me a link to the song “I’m Sorry.” I listened to it. All I remember is so many things going through my head. My brother in the hospital, his funeral, my …show more content…
My story has a meaningful story behind it. The story is deep for me and even for the artist and probably for many other people. Hearing songs like this can inspire you. It inspired me to be thankful for the people in my life. One day they can be here the next they could be gone. You never know what’s going on in their lives. The question is why should we read? You get inspired by reading. It also helps you succeed. Given that reading can help, one story was about a boy who struggled with English. This story was “Inside Out.” He painted and read which inspired him to succeed in school. (brief summary from pages 11-18) Hence the story by Sharon Cho. It was about a girl who was sick. My favorite song is My Little Girl, by Tim McGraw. This is because it does something to me that no other song does. That is, in the way that it sends chills down my back, and the way it gives me goosebumps. This song is important to me because I never really knew my father. This means a lot to me in the way that I had this father figure that has helped me through a lot. He has been there for me through some of my hardest times, even though he hasn't been a part of my life for that long. This song makes me cry every time I listen to it, it means that much to me. About the song itself, it's powerful. It is beautiful. It does a really great job of expressing the meaning of the lyrics. The melody pulls everything together, as well as the beat.
This very slow song, so in my opinion I think it reinforces a sense of bittersweet, because even though she mentions how she wants to be remembered for the good things that she did she also mentions death and regrets in her song.
I can be sitting down and doing something and then this song comes on. It brings back all my childhood memories from me playing outside, to me sitting at the table eating with my grandparents. My grandfather had been my role model, my whole life. My father wasn’t always there so I looked to my grandfather. He was an astounding role model, he was respected by all and loved by all. At the same time, he was someone who had an air of authority, being a Sergeant Major in the military gave him that. He may have been stern and temperamental but he was my grandfather and would always be there for me no matter what.
So we can see the castles of Scotland, the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean, the rainforests of the Amazon, and the sunrise over the tallest mountaintop.
No one really inspired me to read, but something did. When i was in kindergarten i totally hated reading i just thought it was too boring i didn’t understand why kids would like just looking at words on paper. But, in 1st-3rd grade at my school, Shawmont Elementary, I did the 100 book challenge, and we always got prizes for getting over 100 or whatever the goal was. So because when i could get a gift i was able to get these slinky eyes, which for some reason i loved i would always to want to read the 100 book challenge stories everyday just to get that prize. I also started to read other books on my own like “ Who was Steve Jobs” or “Who was Albert Einstein”. This really helped my imagination grow and my vocabulary expand.
I believe that reading is something that children can see as a chore if they are not introduced to it at an early age. Reading should be introduced to a child as something enjoyable that is done with a parent instead of being first introduce by a teacher that grades on how well or not so well they can do it. Reading can also help a child development a strong imagination which

As a young girl I devoured books, but not literally though. I had a voracious appetite to learn and discover new worlds that I haven’t even set foot in. That is what captivated me most. In real life we are given one life to live. However, in literature we are able to live one thousand lives without the expense or hassle of leaving our own rooms.
