For my field study, I visited the alternative health practice, Rivers of Health, a place that is meant to assist one in reaching their wellness potential. Located in Roseburg Oegon, Rivers of Health primarily utilized a form of therapy known as manual therapy. However this is a manual therapy center that is unique from other similar organizations that focus on body manipulation. This is due to it specializing in a classification of manual therapy called Lowens System Dynamic Manual Interface, or as it is more commonly referred to as DMI. The owner and sole care provider of Rivers of Health is Peggy Thompson-Rhodes, who has had much experience in her field. Peggy has been a liscensed massage therapist for more that two decades, with her training being from the Oregon School of Massage.
