We are faced with two considerations when discussing the dilemma of a father stealing a loaf of bread to feed his hungry family. The first consideration is whether this act is ethically wrong and the other consideration here is the way the society views stealing within the context of law. Morality is concerned with the relationship that exists between people and how, ultimately they can best live in peace and harmony. The goal of morality is to protect a high quality of life for an individual or for the community as a whole. (Purtilo & Doherty, 2011). Both ethics and law are not compatible most of the time. While the act of stealing is considered illegal with the context of law but ethically, he was trying to feed his hungry family.
