To explain:
The reason there is more species diversity in southern Florida than in northern Alaska.
Introduction:
Biodiversity is the variety of life in an area that is determined by the number of different species in that area. Biodiversity increases the stability of an ecosystem and contributes to the health of the biosphere. There are three types of biodiversity that includes ecosystem diversity, species diversity and genetic diversity.
Explanation of Solution
Species diversity refers to the number of different species and relative abundance of each species in a biological community.
Florida and Alaska both represent the states of the United States of America that have diverse wildlife and species richness. There is more species diversity in southern Florida than in northern Alaska. This is because Southern Florida is situated between the tropical and temperate zones and also there is more precipitation in Southern Florida than there in Northern Alaska.
