The process by which petroleum is separated by boiling into portions should be determined.
Concept Introduction:
For petroleum to be used efficiently, it needs to be separated into fractions in a fractional distillation column. First petroleum is brought to boiling point to form the vapour. The vapour then travels through the column and condenses at different temperatures in the fractionating column which can be collected as fractions that is then used for different purposes.
