P1 Goal Setting
After high school, my goal is to survive the summer and go boot camp for the Navy that is in Illinois by taking a plane. I am shipping out August 11th and will be in boot camp for 9 weeks then move to “A” school to learn welding for my job as a hull tech. The government provides everything I need like clothing, food, transportation. After I go to a school I get assigned to a ship anything from a patrol boat to an aircraft carrier.
Hull maintenance technicians do tasks that are needed for the fabrication, installation and they repair different kinds of shipboard structures. There is even a type of welding for high pressure fuel lines that have broken and are spraying fuel, it involves bathing the area of weld in nitrogen.

The different gases produce a different weld because of the way the electricity flows through the arc contacting the base metal
P3 Skills and Requirements
The skills needed for welding are a steady hand for clean weldings, a stable head for welding in difficult or stressful positions, you need to be able to do at least basic math, also endurance, and problem solving.
P4 Personal Skills and Experience
In high school i took metal fab classes and i work part time at a metal fabrication shop. In high school i learned how to weld and the basics of metal work.
P6 Risks and Safety of Career the risks are burns and welding flash, and dropping metal there is risks of poisoning if not done correctly and not done with the proper safety equipment. you need to know about the msds and what it contains. During welding you need to wear a mask a welding jacket and you don’t weld on carpet or flammable
