Since I was young I always was a hands on type of kid. I see people who weld and think, wow, that's really cool! Getting to create anything you want from metal seems pretty cool to me.After looking through the working conditions, the education and training requirements, the salary and job outlook for a welder, I have more knowledge of what suits me and what I want to do for a career. A welder can fix basically any metal part that needs to be joined together. They can join beams in the construction of buildings, bridges, and other structures and to join pipes in pipelines, power plants, and refineries. Using a rod and heat to join metals. The job growth of a welder is slower than average.The growth is 4% a year. The average growth is 7%.The benefits of being a welder or in that nature and are not a workshop, you get to travel anywhere you need to. You can go where no one else get’s to,or just in a field. Another benefit is that you don't have to go to college.(Occupational Outlook Handbook.) The education needed is a high school diploma or equivalent. Courses that have these skills in them would be helpful;blueprint reading,shop mathematics,mechanical physics,chemistry and metallurgy.(Occupational Outlook Handbook.) This job is not taught to you,it’s moderate,on the job training. The skills needed would be to calculate dimensions,inspect structures or materials,Ignite torches and monitor your electric box and welder to avoid overheating.(Occupational Outlook Handbook.) The pro’s and con’s of welding. Working in any type of weather besides wet can be a good or bad because It may be really hot or freezing. There may be awkward positions trying to fix a pipe of an object. A pro would be the salary for the travelers.(Occupational Outlook Handbook.) In conclusion,becoming a welder has always seemed fun as a kid and interesting to me. After looking through everything I need to , I think this job is for me!
