My Post Degree In Social Work

To begin, I would like to tell you a little bit about myself. I live at home with my twin brother, Peter, and two parents, both of whom are very supportive and intelligent. My mom works at our family winery, Ovid Napa Valley, and started a community arts center, and my dad is a programmer, and in the process of starting a new company focusing on quantitative analysis. I love to play soccer, read, travel, and to be outdoors. I am also immensely interested in science and medicine. As I am very involved in soccer, during the fall my schedule will be more tight, so I will have to work around that.

Has there ever been a time in your life where you were going through something and felt sad, and alone? Well I have, and i’ve came across many people who have also. When going through something everyone needs that someone who is there for them to listen, and give advice. In the future, I want to be that someone. My passion is helping people, since I was about 5 I’ve always enjoyed helping out people by doing a variety of things.

Working in social care is about providing personal and practical support to help people live their lives. You could be supporting someone with a physical disability, autism, dementia or a mental health condition. You could be working in a care home, out in your local community, in a hospital or from someone's home (providing care in someone's home is often called domiciliary care. There are lots of different roles in social care depending on what you want to do, who you want to work with and where you'd like to work.

Holly McNabola is a clinical social worker in North Haven, Connecticut. She received both her BSW and MSW from Southern Connecticut State University. She graduated with honors in 2000. I’m married and a mother of 4 beautiful children. My program of study is Human Services Technology AAS. I’m still uncertain what direction I want to follow in the field.
