In my story there is a meaningful theme to it and the only way it can truly be expressed is through a graphic novel. I believe that war can be life changing, especially for the people that went through it. This story can't just be told word by word, you will need the pictures the understand what I am talking about. There are two moments in the novel in which this can be explained. One moment was when my neighbor got killed by a bomb and the other was when the war broke out. I will also show a panel
On September 11, 2001 after the twin towers had fallen, our U.S. flag had somehow survived within the rumble, and the flag was raised back up by firefighters to give reassurance of our recovery. It is explained by Guerra how a photographer, by the name of Franklin, had taken a picture of this moment because he saw that it was going to be a “‘ photo with the most meaning’” since there were “‘three men raising a flag paled in comparison to thousands of people dying and two buildings falling to the
On August 6 and 9th, 1945, the world’s first atomic bombs were dropped in a race to end World War II. The first nuclear bomb, ‘Little Boy’, dropped over Hiroshima, Japan wiped out ninety percent of the city and immediately killed thousands. Three days later, a second atomic bomb dropped on this time over the city of Nagasaki. The bombs were created by scientists who worked in secret for years on "The Manhattan Project" to perfect weapons that would bring an end to the long and traumatizing fight
Imagine a world full of chaos. In one second a bomb would go off and kill harmless people on one side of the world and on the other side billions of people die of a newly made, incurable disease. People kept on dying and there was no stopping it. Day by day, every county, all major achievements, everything would be destroyed. No one left to remember it and it's all a wink in the past. The war had been getting worse and worse. People were dying as fast as leaves falling of a tree in fall. One by one
Is heroism somebody with the ability to fly, run fast, bench ten humans, and shoot lasers out of their eyes? No. Real heroism is the sacrifice by someone to make the world a better place. Anyone can perform heroism it just takes “super hero” actions to get them there. To start, there are multiple occurrences of heroism to this day. Everybody has heard of the second World War. Some have family members who fought in the War, others have fought in the war. Some have studied it and some remember sitting at home hearing about it on the radio. The Nazi party walking on France and Poland. The dropping of the atomic bomb on the people of a Japanese city. The Holocaust, the slaughter of thousands of Jewish men, women, and children. The attack on Pearl Harbor. To say that World War II had tons of huge important historical events flying

Dropping the atomic bomb on Japan was wrong. The United States needed a way to end the war, but killing innocent civilians is not morally right. When we dropped the atomic bomb on Japan, ninety-five percent of the people who died were civilians (Kauffman, Jill). President Truman said the bomb targeted military cities, but that does not make up for the fact that he was wrong (Ragone). Admiral William Leahy, Truman’s Chief, said it perfectly when he said “…wars cannot be won by destroying women and
