According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) (2017) an estimated 30.3 million people have diabetes, with greater than 90% having Type Two Diabetes. Compared to non-Hispanic whites, the age-adjusted prevalence of diagnosed and undiagnosed diabetes was higher among Asians, non-Hispanic blacks, and Hispanics during 2011–2014 (CDC, 2017). Of consequence the estimated total economic cost of diagnosed diabetes in 2012 was $245 billion, which reflects a 41% increase from the previous
