Tens go With Only Tens and Ones go With Only Ones: Common Core Standards for Mathematics is Beneficial for the Education System Imagine the math problem 23+68=?; this question could possibly be given to students in second grade to solve. Below are two different methods for solving this problem. The first way is considered to be the more “traditional” way. In this way, one would use a two-column setup and then add. The first step is to add six and eight together to get fourteen, so drop the four and
James (a pseudonym) was chosen for this assignment to receive tier 2 math instruction in addition to high quality math support he is currently receiving in a first grade inclusion classroom. At the beginning of the semester, James, as well as the rest of his class, was given a universal screening assessment of mathematical skill. James’ scores placed his mathematical ability at a pre-kindergarten level and was the lowest among his peers in the classroom. Because of this, James began to be progress
chest. As I glanced around, I noticed grins and high fives decorating my classmates. My brow furrowed and I couldn’t stop tapping my fingers. Throughout this year I had barely managed a 75% average that I needed to get into university. I couldn’t have Math bring it down farther. Then, I heard, “Sophia.” These three syllables seemed to echo throughout the room, bouncing off of the walls. My feet felt glued to the floor. I forced myself to trudge up to Mrs. Johnson. I tried to read her expression, but
Maths assignment Part A Will you have time to fill the pool with your garden hose? I will not be able to fill the pool because my flow rate is not fast enough. My flow rate is 6.7L/min and I have 195 min to fill the pool up. 6.7x195 = 1.3L but I need to fill 2.9L so I would not be able to fill the pool. How much will it cost to fill the pool? I need to fill 2.9KL of the pool. The water tier 2 cost $1.33 per KL and the bulk water costs $2.61 so 1.33 + 2.61 = $3.94 but I need just under 3KL so
these encouragement because I never got it at home. Learning math has taught me a lot. Life has lot of challenges, but as long as you have a goal you will achieve. Having something to look forward to equals to success. Math is used a lot in life. Therefore wherever you want to apply a job it would mostly involves math. For example, if you wanted to be a cashier it involves counting which is math or maybe a doctor , it also involves math because you would have to prescribe medication to your patients
On April 12, 2017, the Hoosier North Athletic Conference for math was being held at Culver. I was chosen as one of the five precalculus students to participate and represent Pioneer. There are five students chosen for each of the five subjects from each of the nine schools participating. There were a total of 225 students in the competition altogether, with 45 in each subject. I am not sure when I was chosen, but I will assume that it was around December 2016. At first, I was confused; not knowing

Imagine you walk into your first grade classroom on a Friday and everyone is talking and the teacher gets everyone's attention in order to stop the noise so she can tell you that you have one math worksheet, one science worksheet, one literacy worksheet, and one social studies worksheet to get done by Monday. You get home and start working on your homework that way you can do fun things the rest of the weekend and you end up staying up till 10 and yet still haven’t completed all your work, but at
For this lesson, I based it off what the students in the clinical are learning throughout the year. I mainly see my students during their math intervention, and all of them have been focusing on diving multi digit numbers with and without remainders. The students have had difficulty with this subject when first being introduced to it, but as each week progresses, they are becoming more comfortable with diving. I believe my lesson would be beneficial for students to “wrap up” a division unit, and
