  • The product/quotient of two numbers with opposite signs is always negative.

Calculation:

In order to simplify the given expression 2+8 , since the sign of the numbers is different, subtract the numbers and keep the sign of larger number as shown below

  2+8=28=6

Thus, the simplified expression is 6 .
