Introduction:

The scapula is also known as the shoulder bone or the wing bone. It is the bone that connects the upper bone of the arm, that is, the humerus, to the collarbone, or the clavicle. The scapula exists in a pair. In humans, the scapula exists as a triangular bone, placed on a posteriolateral facet of the thoracic cage.
