Chapter 9.3, Problem 9.13CP
Program Plan Intro
String class:
- The “String” class provides a number of methods that examines for a string inside of a string.
- The term “substring” refers to a string that denotes another string’s part.
- The “startsWith” method would determine whether calling string of object begins with a specific substring.
- The method returns “true” if string begins with specified substring, it returns “false” otherwise.
- The “endsWith” method would determine whether calling string would end with a specified substring.
- The method returns “true” if string ends with specified substring, it returns “false” otherwise.
- The “regionMatches” method would determine whether specified regions for two strings match.
- The first argument of this method can be “true” or “false” that indicates whether a case-insensitive comparison could be performed.

The code given below represents a saveTransaction() method which is used to save data to a database from the Java program. Given the classes in the image as well as an image of the screen which will call the function, modify the given code so that it loops through the items again, this time as it loops through you are to insert the data into the salesdetails table, note that the SalesNumber from the AUTO-INCREMENT field from above is to be inserted here with each record being placed into the salesdetails table. Finally, as you loop through the items the product table must be update because as products are sold the onhand field in the products table must be updated. When multiple tables are to be updated with related data, you should wrap it into a DMBS transaction.
The schema for the database is also depicted.

Create the PolynomialDemoClass: instantiate and initialize PolynomialDataStrucClass objects p1, p2, p3, p4
Add terms to the polynomials (pass 2 arguments to the method: coefficient and exponent- for example: addPolyNodeLast(4, 3);)
Print out p1, p2 and sum of the polynomials AND p3, p4, and sum of the polynomials
Use: p1= 4x^3 + 3x^2 – 5 ; p2 = 3x^5 + 4x^4 + x^3 – 4x^2 + 4x^1 + 2
AND
p3= -5x^0 + 3x^2 + 4x^3 ; p4 = -4x^0 + 4x^3 + 5x^4
It is time for you to demonstrate your skills in a project of your own choice. You must DESIGN,ANALYSE AND CODE any method for the GENERIC MyLinkedList class that will manipulate the linkedlist. You can decide yourself what it should be following the specification below:1. Purpose: The method must make logical sense – it should be of some purpose to somebody. You should describe in the text who will use the method for which purpose.2. Clearly explain the problem. Then clearly explain how your method will solve it

- HashMap is a parameterized class. List those of its methods that depend on the types used to parameterize it. Do you think the same type could be used for both of its parameters?arrow_forwardOne use of a hash table is to implement a set data type. You will implement the method resize, and the MySetIterator inner class in the class MySet. MySet uses a separate chaining hash table to implement a set of integers. To get started, import the starter file, MySet.java into the hashset package you create in a new Java Project. Please do not change any of the method signatures in either class. Implement the methods described below. You are free to test your code however you prefer. private void resize()This method "doubles" the table size and reinserts the values stored in the current table. The table size should remain prime. And below is method signature class: public class MySet { // implements a set using a separate chaining hash table private class Node { private Integer element; private Node next; private Node(Integer e, Node n) { element = e; next = n; } } private Node table[]; //an array of linked list…arrow_forwardA class needs to contain two generic methods with different number of parameters. - Import the ArrayList and List classes from the java.util package to create a list of phone numbers and also import the HashSet and Set classes from the java.util package to create a set of unique prefixes. Create a class called PhoneNumberPrefix with a main method that will contain the code to find the unique prefixes. Create a List called phoneNumbers and use the add method to add several phone numbers to the list. List<String> phoneNumbers = new ArrayList<>(); phoneNumbers.add("555-555-1234"); phoneNumbers.add("555-555-2345"); phoneNumbers.add("555-555-3456"); phoneNumbers.add("444-444-1234"); phoneNumbers.add("333-333-1234"); Create a Set called prefixes and use a for-each loop to iterate over the phoneNumbers list.
