I understand the purpose of a database, which is to make data record-keeping easier for any company. And I'm aware of the hardware requirements. The concept of programming the rules and structure of a database is the area in which I am most confused. A database, in my mind, is a chart (or many charts) containing fields that are used to hold records. Then, of course, those records in one chart interweave with those in other charts, necessitating the creation of chart linkages. The concept of developing a framework for the data to fit into is where I get stuck. Are we creating metaphysical venues to store data, or are we just recording relationships between data saved on a variety of platforms?
TakeltAll Inc is a wholesaler company that has just opened up for business. They sell all kinds of technology devices at their store, ranging from graphics cards to fully kitted gaming motherboards. To help them develop the information system needed for their sales operations, they have hired you to design their database. They currently keep a wide variety of products at their warehouse. The usual information stored for each product includes name, manufacturer, and price, etc... Apart from keeping track of their products, they would like you also to keep track of the purchases made by their clients. Purchases made by clients are shown in invoices that list all the client's products and the quantities of each product. The price at which a product was bought should also be recorded at the purchase of the products. TakeltAll has two types of employees they would like to keep track of in their new information system. Namely sales agents and product managers. Each employee can either be a…
Which of the studied data structures in this course would be the most appropriate choice for the following tasks? And Why?   a) A training institute needs to maintain a database of 2000 identification numbers of trainees who received an ICDL certification. The goal is to find rapidly whether or not a given ID is in the database. Ordering information among the identification numbers is not important; speed of response is very important; efficient use of memory is also important, but not as important as speed of response.   b) A large fixed content of data needs to be maintained. It is sorted and the admin needs to search for and retrieve existing items, but no new/existing items will be inserted/deleted. You may assume that the data can fit inside the memory of the computer.   c) A transposition table is a cache of previously seen positions in a game tree generated by a computer game playing program. If a position recurs via a different sequence of moves, the value of the position is…
