Interpretation:

An expression for critical dimension ${\text{X}}^{\ast }$ for nucleation should be determined.

Concept introduction:

The pheneomenon to form new structure or new thermodynamic phase, is known as Nucleation process. The self-assembly or self-organization plays a vital role in this formation.

The process in which the oberevr has to wait tiil the appearance of new phase or self-organized structure, is defined as Nucleation. This nucleation process is sensitive to the presnt impurities of the system.
