Chapter 9, Problem 5Q
Summary Introduction
To determine: The reason for more susceptibility of enveloped viruses to disinfection, when they have an extra “layer”.
Introduction:
Disinfection process is used for the removal of pathogenic bacteria and microbes. Disinfection does not remove or kills all the microbial forms. It cannot remove/destroy microbial spores. For example, alcohol can kill pathogenic microbes. It can be applied only to inanimate objects and can reduce the numbers of bacteria and viruses.
