To determine: How to identify recombinant yeast artificial chromosome (YAC) from other plasmid.
Introduction:
A vector is a DNA molecule which is used as a vehicle to transport foreign genetic material into the target cell. In target cell, it can be replicated and get expressed. A vector that contains a foreign DNA is termed as a recombinant DNA. The four classes of vectors are plasmids, cosmids, viral vectors, and artificial chromosomes.
DNA cloning is a technique which is used to make genetically identical copies of a gene or segment of DNA. Recombinant DNA technology allows the cloning of DNA to make recombinants. Vector such as plasmid used for cloning purposes. The desired gene can be inserted into the bacterium (host cell).
