Explanation of Solution
Given:
The five computers with three network jacks are connected to a hallway switch.
The second switch is to be installed in a room which has four network ports, one of which is used to connect the switch to a wall jack.
Five ports are available: three switch ports in a room and two wall jacks.
While configuring, computers connected to the wall jacks work fine, whereas computers connected to the room’s switch are not able to connect to the established network.
To find:The way to diagnose the problem, and the next step that Linda should take after a failed attempt at connecting the computers to the network ports.
Solution:
To diagnose Linda’s failed attempt at installation, and to configure the network while installing with the computer, the following measures should be attempted:
Try to test the non-working computer by connecting it with the wall jack. If it works, then there is a problem with the switch, or with the wall jack to which the switch was connected.
To overcome the above-stated problem:
Try installing the switch on a good jack or replace the switch’s cable. If the issue persists, replace the switch itself.

- There are no ports that are accessible that meet the criteria that you have specified. Your uncle gave you a brand new computer screen for Christmas, and it's just fantastic. The present was really kind of him. Since there are no ports on the front of your computer, the rear does not have any either. As a result, there is no way for the connection at the other end of the cable to be accepted. Four engineers and an office manager work there. The engineers are highly skilled professionals, and the office manager is a capable computer user. The company has a high-bandwidth Internet connection because employees must conduct research frequently. The employees have hopes of making a breakthrough and bringing the company public within the next two years. You have been hired as a security consultant to assess the company's needs. Write a paper recommending what type of security policy should be used (open, moderately restrictive, or highly restrictive) and what security technologies should be used. On what areas should the security policy focus (physical security, data security, auditing, passwords, and so forth), and what technologies should be used to secure these areas?arrow_forward. - A.Howard has recently installed a network connection for a workstation where he has made network connections accessible through both wired and wireless connections. Before finishing the installation, he wants to check whether the computer is making conflicting attempts to communicate with the network through both types of connections. After inspection, he realizes that the computer is indeed making conflicting attempts. Which of the following steps will help Howard in resolving the issue? 1.He can resolve the issue by placing the AP in a high spot for best signal transmission to clients. 2.He can resolve the issue by updating to a NIC or access point's firmware. 3.He can resolve the issue by disabling the Wi-Fi adapter or by unplugging the Ethernet cable. 4.He can resolve the issue by installing a newer Wi-Fi standard.arrow_forwardshow how a switch can be configured to monitor the traffic that passes through it's portsarrow_forwardThe system needs a method that will enable it to communicate without continually prioritising the process of checking for irregularities because of the vast number of devices that are linked up to the ports.
