OLAP (Online Analytical Processing):
- OLAP stands for “Online Analytical Processing” which is a technology that is laid behind many Business Intelligence applications.
- The technology is used for data discovery with certain processing capabilities such as report viewing; performing complex analytical operations and prediction planning.
- OLAP is used to examine the data that is present in the
database dynamically. - OLAP is used to perform some of the basic arithmetic operations on the group of data; the basic arithmetic operations include sum, count, and average.
OLAP reports:
- The reports that are generated after performing some basic arithmetic with the help of OLAP is called as OLAP report.
- OLAP report can also be called as OLAP cube.
