Sodium nitrate is soluble in water.

Explanation of Solution

  ${\text{AgNO}}_{\text{3}}\text{(aq)+NaCl(aq)}\to {\text{AgCl(s)+NaNO}}_{\text{3}}\text{(aq)}\text{.}$

A double displacement reaction is shown in which Na displaces Ag.

A precipitate of AgCl is formed.

NaNO₃ is in aqueous solution unlike AgCl(s).

Thus Sodium nitrate is soluble in water whereas AgCl is insoluble in water.

Conclusion

A precipitation reaction is also a double displacement reaction.
