The pelvis connects the upper half of the body to the hind limb region. It is a bowl-shaped structure which is formed by the fusion of coccyx and 2 coxal bones. The female pelvis is much broader and bigger than the male pelvis. The male pelvis is narrower in shape and more compact than the female pelvis.
