To describe: The principal functions of skeletal muscles.
Introduction: A skeletal muscle fiber is a thin, elongated cylinder and is surrounded by a cell membrane called as sarcolemma. The satellite cells are the muscle precursor cells located above the sarcolemma and below the basal lamina. The myofibrils are the threadlike strands within the muscle fibers. The actin is a thin filament and the myosin is the thick filament of the myofibrils.
