The progression of life on earth is happened on geologic period, where the first single celled organism came into existence about four billion years ago and the first multicellular creatures appeared around one billion years ago. The evolution of the primate order is most recent which occurred in the last fifty million years ago and evolution of humans is from past seven million years ago.

The physical indication of the evolutionary process constitutes the fossil record. The advancement of concurrent dating technology have the capability to rebuild ancient environments, which have maximised palaeontologists and anthropologists to understand the timings of evolutionary events.

The palaeontology focuses on the evolutionary relationships where it studies the pedigrees and morphological progression of the multiple life systems.
