Concept explainers
(a)
Interpretation:
Name of given Oxoacid should be given.
Oxoacid:
The Oxygen containing acids are commonly called oxoacids or oxyacids, which has main elements of Oxygen and Hydrogen along with the other elements.
Naming of Oxoacids:
Oxo anions are produce, when Oxoacids are dissolved in water and name of the Oxoacids are related to name of conjugate bases (Oxo anion).
The end of names of Oxo anion like -ite or -ate are replaced by -ous acid or -ic acid to give the name of respective name of Oxoacids.
