The example for cross multiplication and LCD are 3x+12x−3=x+1x2−4 and 2x+1x2−1−7x−1+9=3x−7x+1 respectively.
Explanation of Solution
Calculation:
When the equation is in the form A(x)B(x)=C(x)D(x) , where A(x) , B(x) , C(x) and D(x) are functions. The cross multiplication method is used in this case to clear the fraction.
For example,
3x+12x−3=x+1x2−4
When the equation contains at least on one side a sum or difference of rational expressions, it is easier to use the LCD because bringing the expression in the form A(x)B(x)=C(x)D(x) so that cross multiplication can be easily used.
For example,
2x+1x2−1−7x−1+9=3x−7x+1
Therefore, the example for cross multiplication and LCD are 3x+12x−3=x+1x2−4 and 2x+1x2−1−7x−1+9=3x−7x+1 respectively.
