Introduction:
A space around a magnet where it can attract other magnets or magnetic materials is called a magnetic field.
Magnetic field lines are a portrayal of the magnetic field on paper. Since unlike poles attract, when they are close together, the magnetic field lines will join the magnets indicating the fact that they are being attracted towards each other.
Conclusion:
The like poles of a magnet repel while the unlike poles attract.
