Explanation of Solution

The acquired immunity, also referred as adaptive immunity is a subsystem of the overall immune system which consists of highly specialized, systemic cells and processes that eradicate pathogens or prevent their growth. It is the type of immunity that the body acquires when a pathogen invades our body and it is developed later in life, after the microbial infection in host. This type of immunity is provided by certain T-lymphocytes and antibodies which are specific to a particular microorganism. The two main types of acquired immunity are active immunity and passive immunity.
