The traces of the water can be kept out of the reaction apparatus if the reaction flask is tightly capped or the use of the drying instrument. So, the atmosphere created where the water vapor or water is excluded is known as the anhydrous atmosphere. To maintain this anhydrous atmosphere some drying agents are used.
