Summary Introduction

To determine:

The comparison between the relative thickness of the walls of the heart chambers of the fetal pig.

Introduction:

The circulatory system of a pig contains a four-chambered heart that pumps blood to and from the lungs and other body parts. The blood transports back to the heart via veins and the blood is transported to the other body parts by arteries.

Explanation of Solution

There are four chambers in the heart of the fetal pig, the right ventricle, the right atrium, the left ventricle, and the left atrium. The walls of the atrium are much thin as compared to the ventricle. Moreover, the left ventricle is much thicker than the right ventricle.

Conclusion

The walls of the atrium are much thin as compared to the ventricle. Moreover, the left ventricle is much thicker than the right ventricle.
