The skeletal system is composed of two types of bones, compact and spongy bones and they are formed by two methods, Intramembranous ossification and Endochondral ossification. Intramembranous ossification plays an important role in thickening, strengthening and remodeling of the long bone, whereas Endochondral ossification produce ribs, skull, vertebrae and pelvic ribs.
