“h”is height of triangle

Area of rectangle: $A=l\times w$

where “l”is length of rectangle

Since the triangle formed by the height of the parallelogram covers the same area as the triangle missing from the other, it can be cut and pasted to make a parallelogram into a rectangle. The triangles ABE and DFC are equal area triangles. The area of rectangle is the base times the height.
