Cytoplasmic membrane is the dual membrane system in which proteins are embedded. Cytoplasmic membrane is also known as plasma membrane. The important basic function of cytoplasmic membrane is to guard the cell against the external surroundings. This membrane also controls the regulation of molecules in and out of the cell.
