Concept introduction:

A molecule is achiral if the mirror image of the molecule is superimposable on the original molecule. Molecules are superimposable if there is orientation in which all atoms of the mirror image and the original molecule can be lined up perfectly. If the mirror image is not exactly the same or cannot be the same in any orientations as the original molecule, then the molecule is chiral.
