To determine:
You know a patient is uncomfortable about undergoing a pelvic examination, and you ask the male physician to wait for you before he begins the examination. He tells you he can’t wait and doesn’t need your assistance. You know the patient wants another woman in the room. How would you respond, and what is at stake? Does it matter if the reason for the patient’s request to have you present is simply preference, is linked to a history of abuse, or is related to her cultural or religious beliefs?
Concept Introductions:
Patient with diseases, which affect sexual part, feel very uncomfortable to discuss the problems openly as well as they feel shy during the examination. A nurse should possess many qualities like manner of speech, avoidance of certain circumstances, and good attitude towards the patient to make the patient comfortable.
